shutdown center
-4
yeah, he's untouchable
- BiggE
The sad thing is that is actually a respectable number compared to many of his team mates.
+/- means nothing without context. |

The money would seem to indicate that they expected him to bring a bit more than that. His cap comparables are all top-pairing dmen, for the most part. - Tomahawk
I know. Thats why I didn't like the signing. To me, he's been as advertised. A guy who will give you points from the backend but not much else. |

Time for Streit to play wing
Vinnie Hartnell and Streit as a 4th line.
Slow but they could limit their minutes at even strength.

I know. They are alright. Not good and not terrible. In the middle of the pack along with several other teams. - PhillySportsGuy
With their D and overall lack of heart, I'm not sure they're even middle of the pack.
The only teams I would hands down rank below the Flyers right now are Buffalo, Florida, Winnipeg, Edmonton and Calgary. That would make them 25th, even best case right now they're maybe 20th.

So Holmgren's big summer acquisitions playing on the 4th line?
This Holmgren's a real crackerjack. |

I think there are restrictions on a bought-out guy returning home - so you may have to wait. Although it could be a year after buy-out, and I can't remember the date they cut Vinny loose. - Atomic Wedgie
What would TB be paying him when adding his buyout to his current 6 mil salary? |

Not to be nit-picky, but that term doesn't mean much anymore.
Fourteen teams will have a chance to pick first overall. - Atomic Wedgie
Possibly only 13, the Devils were stripped of their pick |

He's 23 and has played in 50 games. How do you know he will help this team? - PhillySportsGuy
Every player needs their chance. He has a high ceiling on a team with a log jam on D and he is more NHL ready than anyone in our system. Would giving up Downie and a 2nd or 3rd really be that risky to address this need? |

Of course it wouldn't -- anybody who can upgrade the speed and skill on the back end who is Rundblad's age is worth a look.
We're hoping that Ghost and Alt, a third-rounder and a second-rounder, respectively, are going to help us, so there's absolutely no difference whatsoever in giving a kid like Rundblad -- if you can get him -- a shot.
Because, again, we have no clue if Ghost or Alt or Hagg or Morin will ever make it. None.
