Someone mentioned this on EK's blog: Chris Stewart is in the dog house. He only had 5 min ice time saturday and today he was practicing with the 4th line.... He may be a health scratch today..
Any chance we could get Chris Stewart for a decent price? He could work for us..

If he brings the effort and intensity he can every night he would be a guy I would love to see on Sid's right wing. That is one I would be okay with Despres going the other way for in a package.
The one concern is his night in night out effort. He seems to take a lot of nights off in Hitchcocks view. |

Been saying he'd be a great fit for a few years. I'd absolutely love that. A big nasty guy that can heat up with scoring? I'd be all for it if the price is right. |

I'd say now is the time to go after him. We have the assets to acquire him too.
I'd be very happy Camp If we brought Stewart/Ott for the playoffs. |

I hate the idea of trading Despres but it could work.

That would be unbelievable. What would you think St. Louis would want? I mean they have to wonder if Steen can hold up. Wouldn't that influence their decision about forwards a bit?
I'd hope they would be overconfident about that group enough to let him go. Still wonder for what. |

The thing is that he could also play the 3rd line if bylsma decides to keep dupuis with Sid next year |

I have no idea what his effort level has been, but it's not like players haven't gotten a one way ticket to Hitch's dog house before. He seems to hold grudges and find whipping boys at times. |

Yeah that's absolutely true. There's plenty to wonder about with Jokinen too I'd say. He could go back to the 3rd line and Bennett or Stewart could play with Malkin and Neal. A bunch of different scenarios. A guy like him can offer a lot of different things against a variety of different teams. Most importantly he can bang in a tough series and still provide some offense. His role wouldn't have to be determined for sure until later. Just slot him wherever you feel he can suit you best any given night.
Somebody like that would basically be a Wayne Simmonds for us. Maybe a bit more talented offensively at times. That's a big deal. Offers protection and punch. |

You stole my words. I was going to say exactly that same thing yesterday. We should go hard after him. Could be a very Nice Fit as he's someone that drives to the net to get Dirty goals.
I don't know what the cost would be but he wouldn't come cheap. An "A" prospect + a 2nd round pick would have to go I'd say. |

Questionable work ethic. No. We need players that work, not take nights off. |

I agree with that. I think this team could use a player like him, but not a guy that doesn't show up every night. |

If you are tweeting today #BellLetsTalk for every hashtag Bell is donating $.5 to mental health. I work in the field and my family has had to deal with mental illness since forever ago. So just do it.
I'm with Bartley if the Penguins could pry Wayne Simmonds from Philly I would literally pee myself. |

I was of the opinion that they should have offer-sheeted him when Philly was up against the cap a couple years back when he was an RFA. It would have been worth the draft pick(s? I think it was only a 2nd) that it would have run to offer him about a half million more than Philly was able to give him to stay under the cap. |

They would probably ask for Despres to start conversations. |

Just saw on the main page that the Penguins are interested in Kadri.
I swear, i there are times where I truly think the main rumors page is just generated by a random computer algorithm where rumored players and popular teams are matched together, regardless of team need or logic. |

Crosby openly HATES Kadri, it would never happen. Ott, Stewart, and Moulson are they guys I think we should be looking at. |

It's computed by EK's brain. The algorithm he uses involves webpage hits to increase revenue. He doesn't care if it's 1000 hits telling him he's a moron. He's laughing all the way to the bank.
- This is his face......literally. |

I don't mind the fact that the rumors are completely false. I mean, I expect that from 98% of all rumor sites. I just wish he would put a little time into the lies. |

Like the rest of the Internet, the most asinine rumors get the most hits.
Out of all the possibilities, P.A. Parenteau makes the most sense. Colorado needs defense. Parenteau was a healthy scratch last night and has been relegated to the bottom 6 lately. He's a RW by trade who could step right onto the Crosby line, with Bennett playing on the 3rd line when he returns this year and Dupuis heading to the 3rd line next year.
Would like to finding a better skater for the Crosby line, but Parenteau is crafty and can keep up mentally with Crosby and Kunitz. |
