After playing in San Jose for four years, Falloon was traded November 16, 1995 to the Philadelphia Flyers in exchange for LW Martin Spanhel, a first round draft choice in the 1996 Entry Draft and a third round draft choice. (These picks were later transferred to the Phoenix Coyotes and Buffalo Sabres and used to acquire Danny Briere and Mike Martone, respectively).
Just sayin... - jmatchett383
His short, late-career stint here was enough for me, thanks. |

Not looking at anybody in specific, but isn't that just a little presumptuous (EDIT: not happy with the word selection here, but can't think of a better one)? Maybe they didn't want to take anybody more important away while the Phantoms are seeking a playoffs spot? They're six points out, but with only one less win than the eighth and ninth place teams, with game(s) in hand.
Again, I don't know their roster that well, so maybe it's just needless optimism. - BulliesPhan87
Not sure I'd sacrifice the parent club for the sake of the AHL club. |

The most important thing for minor league affiliates imo is to have capable players ready to fill in at the NHL level. - PLindbergh31
I think it's contextual. For a team that's closer to competing, I agree. For a team that's in a transition/development/terrible year, I could understand exercising such discretion. |

Aside from 3-4 defensemen and McGinn, not really much in the way of NHL-level talent down there.
Edit: Cousins and Straka. But no top-tier stuff. |

Fair point. Probably a bit of both. |

Fair enough, I guess McGinn and Cousins would be the "better" candidates they're leaving behind. Not exactly world beaters, I'll admit. |

Well, VdV was a +4 and his pts/GP is higher than McGinn (-11). But as long as Newbury never wears a Flyers jersey again, I'm good. |

Nervous and excited. I'm always afraid I've done something to offend a mod and the punishment is coming. |

And I don't think either of them would be particularly effective in the role VDV was asked to play.

Probably not. He was the best fit for the 4th line/PK spot. |

Over/Under for combined points for Richards and Carter Sunday is 3.5 - PLindbergh31
I'll take it, I have both my my fantasy team... Richards has been killing me lately. Also have Quick and Doughty... |

No. At least Rosehill can punch people in the face a lot. Newbury can't even do that. |

When I was spotting her at the gym on Sunday...
Yeah, I think she's just super busy at work climbing the corporate ladder. |
