It's either a very tight and exciting game or an utter domination by the Habs or Bruins. Rarely a 3-1 snoozefest. - _nay_
if it's a snoozefest that means Montreal is executing well. i would love to see a snoozefest. Price gives us a great chance to win those games. |

Holy (frank) ASP, are you an NHL coaches union boss or something? - number_23
No.
I just find that the amount of blame those guys get as opposed to the players is ridiculous. |

Yes.
Edit: Look at Paul Maclean in Ottawa. Last season, the Sens made the playoffs with a roster that was incomplete because of injuries for most of the season. This season, they are out of the playoffs and yet, his team is mostly healthy since the beginning of the season.
Why?
He won the Jack Adams last season, too. |

Selon @Dave_Stubbs, Christian Thomas aurait été rappelé par les #Canadiens afin qu’il rejoigne l’équipe à Boston. Rien de confirmé. #Habs

Why? because his goalies came back down to earth...last year the Sens goalies were playing at totally unsustainable rates...

So he won the Jack Adams and made the playoffs because of ridiculously hot goaltending?
Are you saying the players had more to do with it than the coach himself? |

of course. as soon as their goaltending cracked in the slightest, against Pittsburgh, they got shelled. |

This is (frank)ing sad
And he said he welcomed the pain when the Penguins’ Jay Caufield caught him with an elbow in a February 1991 game that fractured his cheekbone because it partly masked the symptoms of the ensuing concussion.
“I was out (knocked cold) on the ice for a while,” Odjick said. “That was a whole lot easier to take because I had the pain of the broken cheekbone. The pain kept me from focusing on what was happening to my brain.”

The players ALWAYS have more to do than the coach himself...but that doesn't change anything.
Look at what's happening in Winnipeg, the players didn't suddenly get better...they just got tired of Noel's message, and now they're listening to Maurice's message....in a few years they'll get tired of Maurice's message and start listening to some other guys message.
Martin, are you that naive that you don't know that's how it works???

Looking at last year Bishop's, Lenner's and Anderson's stats and it seems accurate. |

everyone always assumes that when a team is decimated by injuries and still has some success, that same team will tear it up when healthy, regardless of whether or not that team has a track record of success when healthy. that's where the expectations for them came from. decimated by injuries, finished 7th and won a round. healthy, they'll be at least 3-4 places and one round better. |
