Also, don't forget about my going over to the Islanders blog and securing McDonald for a full can of Pringles. They didn't bite on my offer of Ronnie Woo Woo and a half can of Pringles. |

I'm not going to pretend to know exactly what the story is but....
The way the he is being handled tells you how important Rozsival is...Last playoffs shows the same.
Some might not know...Rozsival was a top 2 or 3 defenseman on almost every team at one time and was signed to a large contract as a free agent.
He is not a bottom pairing dman looking to cling on...When he is right he can bring a strong game and was one of the big reasons the Hawks won last summer.
Blackhawks explode, 4 goals in 2nd period & top Canucks 5-2. Bickell out but 3rd line vg. On The Blackhawks-Fox Chgo:http://bit.ly/1eiPyeH - Al

I think with Versteeg its more a matter of perception Al. As good as a player as Hossa is, he will turn it over in bad spots too. They all do. Versteeg is at his best when he is moving the puck and his feet. I, for one, will live with occasional turnover because he brings a lot to this team. Just making a point to follow up your post. - Elbows15
Lot of people have a love affair with Verbeauty, the only bright spot: He has some offensive flair. But he has lost a step (offensively and defensively) and he is not the 2010 Versteeg. He seems to be a perimeter player, maybe not as physical and dangerous offensive as he once was. he does have a nice one time shot, but doesn't seem to get to use it enough. |

V was a solid depth acquisition for 3RW. They need to get their ducks in a row and keep him there. He is an above average 3rd liner but NOT a top 6 forward, IMO. Saad is performing and is a legit 2LW; put him back where he belongs and keep him there.
Q has a great system, but his personnel decisions suck. |

I would trade him for the lint in a homeless guy's pocket, but I'd try to squeeze a roll of Certs out of the deal, first. |

He is close in skill to Patrik Kane, he can skate, shoot, pass and stickhandle with top players, he will on occasion throw a big hit and he has the abilty to get under his opponents skin, trouble is he also allows him self to sucked in to goading from an opponent. There are stretches of games where a detective is needed to find the guy and I'm not sure his goalies know who he is.
Kadri is a medium sized center with high end skill who seldom plays with any effort. The proverbial Million Dollar talent with a fifty cent head.

For those of us who thought Crawford was overpaid:
@Real_ESPNLeBrun: Varlamov extension: 5 years, $29.5 million. An AAV of $5.9 M a year - DarthKane
Saw this and thought its what everyone has been saying regarding the market, but still I think you couldn't have gotten Craw for a little less. Considering what team he's playing for and the talent in front of him. I think 5M per would have been fine. 700k here and 1mil there add up against the cap in a hurry.

thanks paul! would capt. serious change his ways if he landed here? 2nd line center solved? who goes that way & is Ek farting in shallow water with this one? just looked up Kadri, same size as Pirri, my opinion, Pass, see if there is any way to look into Legwand. he'd be a good filler for a couple of years until the young ones are ready. |

Given the inability of Roszival to play every game, I find the decision about Stanton even more puzzling. What did the coaches/front office see from Kostka in camp that made them think letting go of a young, cheap D man on the verge was a good idea? What I saw from Stanton last night would have been fine for an 8th defender playing every 3 or 4 games while he gets used to the NHL. - NewToHockey
