Have you guys discussed how much money Kane and Toews are going to make past next season? - golfingsince
It has been the subject of countless salary cap doomsday scenarios. The question isn't whether they'll be resigned (they will), but how much less cap space the Hawks will have when their new contracts kick in. |

12th in the Conference and 8 points out of a playoff spot and the Jets have sacred cows?? - RickJ
I wouldn't be shocked to see the Jets make it to be honest. Vancouver and Phoenix both look far too dysfunctional. |

Plus the PK has sorted itself out Al. Aside from the 1st 20 games, its probably top ten in the league. - Elbows15
Nope, Before the last 3 or 4 games, as I posted back a hair, the PK was exactly the same over the first 50 games, that is the firs 25 and last 25...I did the math.
Last few games, definitely better...but lets not get carried away. |

spoiled Hawks fans. sheesh. so it's a slump. they've got loads of talent. they'll get out of their little slump. you'll survive. they'll contend for the Cup again.
not to troll.. just try to be a little optimistic. - MartysBetter88
We have different definitions of little. They are not a Cup contender this season. Christ, we lost to the Devils FFS. |

MEh. I said 20.
EDIT: It doesn't go from less than 70% to almost 80% by being a tad better. |

Though most people assume all Hawk fans are bandwagon fans, they have no idea how long it took the STH'ers to stop buying tickets when the old man was alive. They have some years to play with. |

I would. History shows that if you are out of the playoffs now (or even early December), very few teams make it in. And dropping that game to Nashville last night hurt. |

Not all of them, but there are a ton and we both know it. I like reading what the old timer fans have to say.

Well, except Bolland is injured constantly and didn't play the Pk much. They paid him because he is their only player with size. And both Frolik and Bolland would cost more going forward and we would be female doging about them. - Elbows15
Bolland missed 13 gawmes last season, 3 the year prior. Last season he was on the #2 penalty killing unit. The year prior he was right there with Toews & Hossa for forwards on the penalty kill. Frolik is missed more in that roll but both contributed to that 5th overall unit. |

So The Sabres have this goalie who is playin out of his mind right now on the 30th team in the lague standings...no matter what he does the rest of the team can't win it...hold a team to 1 goal...lose...stop 48 shots...lose.
Sounds like the Hawks would be best served getting that lock-down goalie who plays 60 minutes rather than a # 6 D-Man who will play...12 - 15.
Need grit? We have this Captain who never quits, steps-up from his team mates, will score 20 on a tema with absolutely no offensive talent ... oh and plays on the 2nd PP and on the PK.
Sounds like a call to Sabres GM Tim Murray is in order!
We need offensive players, prospects and draft picks ... make a deal. - IonSabres

Yeah, might hurt with the Cap for a bit. I'm thinking Perry/Getzlaf deals. |

No, but what motivation to the Jets have to trade away a Ladd or Kane or Byfuglien? They may not make the playoffs this year, but if they continue this development they will next season. |

Like every other team that wins, sure. Getting home games on TV helped a lot too. The old man croaking was the best thing to happen. He was so short-sighted he was killing the sport here. |

Your opinion but Frolik is a 4th line player here and the 4th line is the least concern.
Plus I think the PK would be right about where it is now if Frolik was on the team....Because the others would be the same out there.
Vertseeg is still a top 6 player on many teams and could be here too..
In any regard it was never a choice between the two...Mute point and I was only responding to another comment.
The tell happened right out of training camp here....
Big trip starts on sour note with 5-4 OT loss. Now Brandon Pirri's on a big audition: On The Blackhawks-Fox Chicago:http://bit.ly/MfODRC - Al
Wasn't Frolik brought here with the idea he could crack the top 6? He was advertised as "baby Jagr," was he not?
I'd still take Versteeg over Frolik any day. |

The motivation would come from being able to turn one or more of those assets into younger, potentially better talent going forward for the long term. A team with Stanley Cup aspirations might drop some very good young players or picks on them for the right piece this year. |

I cant imagine this happening. Hes paid alot, but his cap hit is below 6 million, which is very valuable as the cap raises. |

It's not panic mode, it's just accepting reality. They're just not a very good team right now. Period.

Agreed.
However, I couldn't see Evander Kane getting traded. He'd cost a team a king's ransom, and I'm sure Chevy would consider him a building block of the franchise.
As for Byfuglien, the Jets could get some pieces (picks, players) to really help them contend in the near future. Same with Ladd. |

I think the Hawks are a good team. It's the point that they're not playing like a good team should. That's the problem. |

The Hawks used both of their compliance buyouts over the summer, so buying out Hossa isn't going to happen. |
