Yes, but they all play similar balls to the walls style and lead by example. Very similar molds in terms of players. - rangerdanger94
I'm not a big stats guy, but similar style and similar player types are two different things. Callahan hasn't put up much in the way of stats at all during his career, unlike the other guys you're talking about. So I guess I'm interested to know what your definition of " very similar molds" is?! They look alike? Because even if they play alike, pretty large difference in career stats... |

Eklund: Why on Earth Is Sather Trying to Move Ryan Callahan? - Eklund
"Insanity"? How do you really feel. If Slats knows that Cally wants too much OR that he wants to try the market out this summer, his only choice is to get something for him now, preferably from the West. That's a realistic way to deal with the situation. |

Ask the Leafs how they feel about signing that "heart and soul" kind of player. - Aetherial
REALLY glad Clarkson didn't accept the ridiculous offer the Oilers management gave him! |

(frank) that. Ennis is one of our best forwards and will continue to be throughout his career. |

I'm a Rangers fan but not a Callahan fan. I hate all the "He's the heart and soul of the Rangers." garbage. The a$$hole, maybe. But seriously, he is too small, easily broken, too slow, has average stick skills and is completely overrated. I really, really hope he goes. He is not worth big $$ to the Rangers but elsewhere, maybe. He'll either play huge some place else or I think he could fade away to nothing. Yes, he has plenty of heart but Dubinsky, as much as I disliked him with NY, has the same amount of heart but is probably more skilled than Callahan. |

The Leafs would play the lightning as is my understanding with the new wildcard format. The Rangers I believe would play Philly and they would need a guy like Callahan. - Adam_The_Golf

In only 148 more games played, Parise has almost doubled Callahans career point total. I'd say you're opinion is pretty factual. |

6 mill a year for Cal is redonkulis. For 7 years. WTF...
I think both agent and team are posturing. Cal will sign for much less and the ranger are not really shopping him seriously. Just letting him know if he doesn't come down a lot he could well be traded.
I would think 4.5-5 mill a year is very good money for what Cal brings to the table. Anything more is just silly. |

I agree. Max $5 mil for 5 years. They cannot sign him for more than 5 years. |

Yeah it was Brown and not Kopitar, Richards, Carter, Doughty, Quick that was the reason for LA winning the cup. - S Kaspar Rollins
brown was a very important part and played a key role as their captain to lead the team there. i never said he was the lone reason or that he outperformed everyone else. |

are people actually comparing parise and callahan? this isn't fantasy hockey, that's almost like comparing a forward and a goalie. two completely different types of players, you need both types to win the cup. if parise was on the kings team instead of brown, they probably wouldn't have won the cup. sameways if callahan was on the kings team instead of kopitar, they wouldnt have won either. i'd give callahan 5 years 5.5, more than fair. if he wants more then ship his ass out. |
