Who's sitting on a soapbox. Calling it like it is. A sabres Gan is in no position to be ripping on an Oilers fan. Do you seriously disagree with that?

all I said was that EDM is not a UFA hot box destination... no where did I say "buffalo>edmonton"

lol... just stop.

Don't get me wrong I like ORiley but this will be the first season he'll put up more than 20 goals so there's not too much of a precedent and no reason to overpay for 1 1/2 good seasons.....see Ville Leino.
- nikel

Leino is so bad....... I mean.. just awful...

I think we need to healthy scratch him the rest of the season just to not risk him getting injured so that we can compliance buy him out the second the season is over.

RoR isn't getting moved....

I was at the Sabres vs Avalanche game on Saturday.. he is a VERY IMPORTANT part of their team... no way do they move him.

Stastny is the only guy that I see getting moved from Colorado and even he has come out and said that he would take less to stay in Colorado.

- JVince11

I agree, he's going nowhere. At all. They'll sign him long term and they'll shell out big dollars to do it.

Well why would you sit on your soapbox spouting stuff like that (and let's not kid ourselves you put some unneeded emphasis on it)?

And as I pointed out, its happened before. For precisely the reasons I mention.

Well they need to let Stastny walk in order to do that... They have 10M in cap space but...

ROR is a RFA making 5M right now
Duchene jumps from 3.5M to 6M next season
McGinn is a RFA making 1.75M right now
John Mitchell is a UFA and very valuable to that team.
Landeskog jumps from 925K to 5.6M next year
Sarich, Hunwick, and Benoit are all UFAs on D
Tyson Barrie is a 715K RFA and he looked pretty good this wknd
Varlamov's new contract jumps him from 2.8M to 5.9M next year

They are supposedly trying to unload Parenteau's 4M contract but I wouldn't... I liked his game a lot and they are lacking top 6 wingers.

Uh oh...

Arthur Staple ‏@StapeNewsday 5m
Sources say Thomas Vanek has turned down a substantial offer from the #Isles, who will likely move him by Mar. 5 deadline. Story to come.

I saw that, and thought "yeah right", but honestly, toss in a decent player instead of Gagner, and they'd have to think about it. I mean, they're getting a top pick, and maybe Ekblad anyway.

But they're a good team right now, I doubt they're looking for futures. So, you're right, it would never happen.

Hedman is only 23, he IS a big part of the future

There are at least 5 or 6 guys that you mention that will be cut loose before he will, including parenteau.

Jeebus. How many times do I have to say its not happening? And I'm not sure you understand what is meant by "futures".... Its a gambling term.

I'm curious as to whom.

Perron, definitely. Yakupov, probably. Anyone else?

- Morris

This Hedman "talk" doesn't even deserve conversation. Bolts have too many forwards already so Perron and Yak etc would just add to the logjam.

drouin has a better chance of getting traded than hedman. bolts are contending this year without stamkos, no way will they trade a core piece of their D. maybe if they took jones instead of drouin i could have seen it happen.

Are you paying for data usgae on this website? Who cares what we talk about?

Especially when the question I asked him was "who on the oilers is better gagner but worse than Hall/Nuge/Ebs". It had generally ceased being about Hedman at that point.

And again, I go back to what I posted at the bottom of my first (and only) post about Hedman.

Then again, what you say about Tampa not looking for futures is absolutely correct. Chalk it up to a dumb rumour by Ek.

My honest opinion is there isn't an offer that would pry Hedman from Tampa. If Tampa had taken Jones I still think this applies as Jones is righty and Hedman lefty so they don't really cancel each other out depth chart wise.

The Preds need another defenseman like the beach needs sand. I don't see why they'd want or need Hainsey.

Just passed 300 game plateau, plus he has playoff experience from the '11 ECF run. His play this year is a true example of how defenseman mature in the 200-300 game range. We had to witness alot of growing pains as he went through those 300 games but now that experience is paying major dividends

If drouin were to get traded, it would take a big package. He seems to be st Louis' heir apparent.

massive !!!! would never happen, yzerman is huge on prospects, and if he wasn't...we wouldn't be making it through this without stamkos (of course bishop/hedman & coaching too)
