He's routinely going up against 20-22+ year olds (or freakin 26, if you're creepy Matt Read) in the NCAA, though... you could argue that he's already been going up against men, unlike junior players who are up against mostly 15-19 year olds. - Tomahawk
But those are mostly grown men (like ex-teammate Greg Coburn, for instance) who can't play at a professional level. Matt Read is the exception. Also, while the NCAA programs are good, the CHL is still the best junior competition in North America. |

For me, just hate P'burgh. Now that Recchi is gone, I don't hate Boston--they're just really good (but I hate Thornton). Starting to get back to Chicago .(They were my dream matchup for our cup final, my favorite--childhood--west team. but I can't let Kane ruin it all for me forever. Oh I do HATE him though--and not for the goal.) Still I've always loved the Sharkies and love that Thornton, Marleau, and little Joe. - bodiva88
Ive never really liked Marleau and Jumbo Joe, but I do like Couture and Pavelski a lot. |

Any data ot back that up? How many shots that Grossmann has blocked that were coming from the point? Is the defenseman responsible for covering the points? You watch Grossmann play, he eliminates a lot of chances that are the result of breakdowns elsewhere that aren't his check. - MJL
Wait, you're going to dismiss people and demand data from them when your entire argument has been "I watched all the video" and "I don't agree with advanced stats because I feel they're unreliable"?

The AHL will allow him to go up against 20-35 year old men with NHL experience. It's a big difference.
I wouldn't be opposed to having him on the Flyers, but I think the best place for him is the AHL. Time will tell though. |

I'm not going to pencil him in, but IMO I think he has a good shot at making the team. Probably just as high as anyone else. I think Morin not being able to be sent to AHL might work against him, unless he is just way too good to send back... Like Maata... |

I watched Morin live 1 game this preseason. He impressed me in that he didn't look out of place, but he didn't "wow" me either the way Alt did. I just think it would help Ghost to have at least 1/2 season in the AHL. This is all assuming he turns pro next year. |

A lot depends on what other moves they make. If they add a couple of top 4 defensemen, either via trade or free agency, then Gostisbehere will have to be very good to make the team. |

From what I've seen and read, Morin still looks like a work in progress. I would be very surprised to see him with the Flyers next season. |

Temple never closes. I was there for undergrad. Do you live far from school? I took the subway from Old City so it wasn't a big deal for me. |

its absolutely ridiculous. i dont know why, but their level of autonomy in the matter is sickening. in the northeast, i have roughly a ten minute drive to the train station and then a 45 minute ride in. i didnt even bother today. |

I thought Ghost was in his senior year. If thats the case, he cant play another year right? If its not the case, I am concerned he might not report... I know he wants to finish... |

He can be signed at any time, but he'd forgo any remaining college eligibility when he does. It's possible he will sign this summer, the Flyers are reportedly expected to make a major push for it |

I dont want to be the "old man" jerk... because I used to say the same thing about my College. But get used to it buddy. Your not in highschool anymore... Its prepairing you for the real world. Where do you think I am today? Sitting in a cushy bed? Nope. I'm at work. We dont have snow days here, and unless there is a state of emergency, we are expected to be here. |

Not happy with that. I was hoping to get him transitioned this year. I have a feeling he reports back. |

Because public transit is still running.
I'm at work. Andhere either you work remotely if you have access and can manage your work that way or you get in. The guy in the next office came in to CC from Bluebell. I'd be unlikely to drive all the way in from the burbs in this, but I'd certainly make it to the train or HSL. I feel worst for people who need to work whose kids are being closed out of school. They don't have many options for child care and most don't get paid if they don't show. |

Honestly, could we have a little common sense and understand that kids don't typically come straight from college (or juniors) and play defense in the NHL. The exceptions are rare talents. It is no shame to admit your guy is going to take seasoning and development. It IS a shame to consistently rush and underdevelop young players so they never reach their potential. |
