I think they would want B. Schenn or at least Laughton. - psuhockey
I'd do Laughton and a 1st for him. |

Exactly. Would they move him for Laughton? If Rundbald was waiver exmpt, he'd be in the AHL with Gormley - Jsaquella
I would try Cousins and 2nd first, and move up to Laughton. |

Probably wouldn't even need to go that high... something like what the Rangers gave up for Erixon way back when might do it... two 2nds and Horak. |

He was talking Edler, not Rundblad. Said it would take at least Laughton. |

I would actual prefer B. Schenn straight up for Elder than that package but that's just me. |

Oh, yikes.
I'm not a big believer in Edler as a guy to hitch the wagon to... he looks great on paper, but his game is really really shaky. |

I noticed he was out from the last game. (Damn simmer looks good with an A on his jersey). What happened to Timmo? |

Since he missed the game, I'd guessing his ankle became unattached to the rest of his body. |

As long as we don't have to put up with Carter's wide shots, Carle's inability to defend, JvR faking injuries to avoid being traded, and Richards drinking beer, we can't lose! |

No but Norris caliber defensemen are not available by trade or thru free agency this year. Is Edler better than MacDonald or Stralman or Streit on the 1st pair? |

Or, you could go after Niskanen/Girardi (maybe) via UFA, but it's gonna cost you $$ big time. |

Why do we need more not especially well rounded defensmen? - funmaster18
because you guys spoon your eyes out when you see the price for a rounded one typically. so like he says, its either take someone not so solidly balanced, or try and hit on a younger kid not getting a shot. |

They need a guy with a couple of stop-watches timing real puck-possession times... until that day arrives, we're stuck with settling for the very strong correlation between shot events for and winning. - Tomahawk
I don't think there is any question that there is a strong correlation between corsi events for and against towards winning. This goes back to the Soviet Red Army days and their philosophy of play. The team who has the puck more stands a much better chance of winning. Where it falls apart is trying to assign blame to one player when there are 4 other skaters on the ice at 5 on 5 play. |
