Do you think Mason is better than MAF (regular season), all things considered? - jmatchett383
Thats a good question. I would say Fleury is better because he's done it longer, but I would rather have Mason long term. Not sure how that makes sense but thats how I feel. |

I think the important thing was they didn't allow any unstoppable shots. They gave a Mason a chance on every shot.
The Flyers had been allowing so many unstoppable chances. Mason is a good goalie. If you give him an opportunity, he will usually make the save. - PhillySportsGuy
They did, and he was very good.
And when the Kings did have an exceptional chance he made a big stop and there were any second chances where Mason was hung out to dry |

I would trade Grossmann for Hainsey in less than a heartbeat.
Hainsey is "softer" per se, but much more mobile and has a better first outlet pass. - bradleyc4
Two different types of Dmen with different strengths and weaknesses. That trade would plug one hole and open another -- then the Flyers would have Schenn as their only Dman who uses his size at all. Also, as long as Canes are in playoff hunt, they will probably hold onto Hainsey. |

I had to watch, in person, those bastards skate around the WFC with the Stanley Cup. So yeah, I hate them. But it would be cool to see St. Louis win in. - jmatchett383
That would suck. I watched the game with a group of friends who aren't really Flyers fans. It sucked. When Kane scored, they all looked at me and my friend (Now the infamous Lil' Richardy) said "If I were a Flyers fan, that would be a really depressing way to lose" then he laughed. |

The one sequence where Mason made 5 stops in about 3 seconds was the only time I was really worried. |

Myself, I am simply hoping that Joe Thornton does NOT score 4 goals tonight. |

There were a few times I was worried, but it was more eventually the Kings' luck needs to change and they'll get a goal off somebody's ass or skate |

Looking back, I feel really bad for the Hawks fans in attendance. They had no idea it went it. Then, after Kane was jumping around, they kind of half-rose and jerkily started to celebrate. It was just bad all around. |

Same. If you look at the overhead, the Kings had some really good whacks. It really was 5 legitimate scoring chances in one sequence. |

He's not really a goal scorer. He's more likely to assist on 4 goals. |

However, if it was Bernie Parent or Hextall in net, they would have made 6 saves on those 5 shots. So Mason isn't really that good.
Then again, if it were Parent or Hextall in net, it would have been 1 shot, 1 rebound, and 3 Kings on their asses. |

It was a very awkward ending. It was hurtful because it gave the Philly fans false hope because the officials didn't see it go in at first. |

The usual narrative is that defenseman and goalies are responsible for all goals against and forwards are responsible for all goals scored. |

Dude...this lady in my section...literally fifteen uninterrupted minutes of nonstop profanity-laced swearing. I am not exxagerating. She literally screamed for 15 minutes straight. She and I are not exactly friendly. |

And the Flyers win because they're all goons who get away with penalties.
And the Flyers lose because they're all goons who take too many penalties. |

I hope not.
Bear Grylls once gave himself an enema on camera. That seems like a very uncomfortable thing to do for a fake show. |

She's the prototypical Philly fan that is portrayed in the media. Or, as they're often called, "Eagles fans." |

Grossmann's size only comes into play because the team is constantly hemmed in their own zone when he's out on the ice. It would be addition by subtraction if they could unload him and his contract, imo.
I think Hainsey could fill Grossmann's minutes 5-on-5 and on the PK and the team would be better for it. |

- PhillySportsGuy
Read and Simmonds for Maata - sadly, no
Read, Laughton and 1st for Letang - yes
Coburn and 2014 1st for Dougie Hamilton - no
I could rework them, but right now, Simmonds, while not untouchable, would be hard to pry away. Also, I'd do Coburn and a 2nd for Hamilton, but not a 1st. But man, Olli Maata and Jacob Trouba are 2 guys I'd give over market value for, but the 4 players I wouldn't trade (because there exists the possible of Patrick Lalime syndrome) for them are Giroux, Simmonds, Couturier, and Mason. |
