The only Russian player (off the top of my head)who could potentially be had right now, and I would take, would be Dmitri Kulikov - jak521

Gotta agree with you there. Maybe Nikitin. - jmatchett383
Nikitin is another one.. Forgot about him.. He has been a very steady player for CBJ and still seems as though he has some upside.. Kinda reminds me of a less offensive bit better defensive Meszy.. Bigger kid who skates well, but never really put EVERYTHING together. |

Believe me I see your point... and if we didnt have 3 young centers that were potential 2 way players I wouldnt be as up to trade for a potential top scoring threat.
And lets not forget he has only played 101 NHL games and is only 20. I like Yak. - youarewrong
The question I have is why do you like Yak so much? |

Young
#1 overall
Pure goal scorer ("sniper" if you will)
A guy I'd be fine with having, but not at the cost. He's like a poor man's poor man's Mogilny. |

he reminds of several guys the Flyers already have, big and lumbering
he has a big shot but kinda takes a while to get rid of it |

After signing a one-year deal with HC Lev Praha in July 2013, Zherdev celebrated at the Barvikha Luxury Village hotel in Moscow where things turned violent, according to a Russian news report. Zherdev allegedly initiated a bar brawl at the hotel before crashing his Bentley Continental GT, which was later vandalized by locals who were outraged with his behaviour and scratched the words "scum", "bastard", and others into the vehicle's paint with nails. Damage to the vehicle was allegedly valued at $30,000. Barvikha Luxury Village hotel staff also claimed Zherdev spent nights there with various women, prompting his wife, Eugenia, to file for divorce. Zherdev also lost his passport as a result of the incident, meaning that he could not fly to his new team's training camp in Finland.

Schenn only has 167 career games.
Couturier is only 21.
I would rather have two-way players who score 55-75 points than a one way player who score 80 every year. - PhillySportsGuy
I'm not sold that yak is a 1 way player yet. His scouting reports suggest otherwise and if you look at +/- then hall, rnh, hemsky are all 1 way players as well. Edmonton is so bad at defense I think anyone would be 'labeled' a 1 way player if they play there. Jmo. |

I think Callahan will end up getting his 7 years, $45 million in a place like Buffalo. |

They are right now. They offer no support to their defenseman and don't back check hard enough |

The ice was pretty bad in the Northern and Western parts of the area. Tons of PECO customers out of power, possibly until the weekend.
The announcement of the "PECO Power Play" tomorrow night (if the Flyers get a power play) could conceivably get booed. |

Honestly there are several reasons. First of which is I think this team is lacking a top scoring threat. Someone with a killer shot to compliment Griroux and Voracek. Second, I think we are top heavy on 2 way centers, and while I know its a good thing, we should be seeing what our options are to spread that depth out a bit. Also he is young like the rest of the core of this team and we could keep a good diverse core together for some time. And also because it is possible that is value is lower now then it will ever likely be. It would be nice to be on the winning "got you" side of a trade for once. |

Selfishly, I hope it's NOT Giroux. But I'm sure Giroux may not feel that way. |
