It really seems as though they've played well on these challenging road trips. The fantastic 5 and 1 west coast trip around Xmas and then 2 out of 3 vs the Cali teams? You can't ask for better than that. Just have to pick it up at home as they've lulled of late.

need more fans yelling "shoot it" at home, that always helps

Stolarz has been a to-5 goalie since he joined the Knights a year ago. He could go back as an overager and dominate, but I'd prefer him getting into the pro game. Do the Flyers have an ECHL affiliate?
- jmatchett383

I thought they shared one with New Jersey

Are you implying that sight lines and open shooting lanes are more important that just burying your head and firing as soon as possible?

We haven't seen many of the same fans who complained about the level of competition on their last road trip.

That is something the chronically disgruntled internet keyboard warriors who seem almost happier when the team they ostensibly root for is losing and the radio-talk-show calling people who are perpetually "done with this team"don't understand.

it is frustrating to see them elevate their game against top teams from the west

but have clunkers against Columbus (who looks amazing right now) and Carolina

I hope they figure out a way to keep Downie.

I know I'm probably in the minority but I like him.

If he is looking for a big raise then no, but at a similar salary to what he gets now, yes.

What he showed when he was healthy with Couts and Read ( I think he is still recovering from some injury right now) I believe warrants an extension. Agree that I wouldn't want to give him a big raise at this point.
- Marc D

i noticed he removed the visor a couple of games ago, hopefully that's a good sign

Those teams caught the Flyers at the right time. I think the Flyers caught the Kings and Sharks at the right time. Not taking away anything from their wins. They were both great wins.

No, they just punch the road the entire way from their homes to the stadium.

Yup. They definitely seem to flatten out at home after a good road trip against tough opponents. Isn't their PP% quite a bit lower at home than on the road?

Maybe it's because, as G said last night, they are traveling and staying together as a team and that makes them closer and better? Whatever it is, they need to bring it home with them.

Many players feel more comfortable on the road because it simplifies their lives. It becomes eat, sleep, hockey.

I like his style, but I feel its a bit redundant on the Flyers. I would like to see them replace him with a more disciplined, two-way player.

They have players from the Rangers, Sabres, and Flyers. I know Chubak played a few games for them this year. A lot of ECHL teams have players from different organizations on them.
