A lot of Leafs fans will probably blame the Leafs for putting in a crappy effort, and to some extent I suppose they would be right.

But to be honest, the real story here was how absolutely awesome the Panthers played--they were completely lights out. Nearly a full 60 minutes of total domination. With that level of effort, even the Chicago's and Anaheim's of the world would have had a tough time beating them.

Naturally, Panthers are still 27th in the league.

I always get nervous when the Leafs play the Panthers because the Panthers always seem to give my team a rough going over. In the three games I've watched this season against the Panthers they always come out aggressive. It obviously a well studied game plan because if you watch most Leaf games they rarely come out flying at the beginning of any game. The Leafs almost always seem to come out slow, dopey & disinterested looking from the get go of most games and takes them a while to get engaged. It's a very effective game plan by the Panthers coaching and they always seem to catch the Leafs flat footed every time!

Yea it was a great game, but unless we start making a habit out of this, this game really means nothing. We need this kinda play on a nightly bases. Which I get is hard to do considering the schedule, back to back nights, fatigue, etc... I want to stay optimistic, but until we get some real all star talent to support the young guys nothing will change. We just simply don't have the talent.

Praying Dale brings in some real talent soon because this team has so much potential.

Dan come on man the Refs had to of had a major part in the Leafs losing ! That is just common sense

Shocking that Huberdeau played his arse off when with Bjugstad.. not like we have all been calling for them to be put back together for oh, I don't know, all season. It annoys me. We'll probably win tonight, too. I'll go out on a limb and say we win tomorrow. We'll have 55 pts going into the break, think we are contenders, go nuts with trades, miss the playoffs, and be stuck with a mid 1st rd pick that no one really is gonna go ape shyt over because after the first 3 picks in this draft, the prospects are at least 4 years away from making a training camp.

But man.. if we can some how make this thing competitive, and win a few games.. kinda show the league that we aren't complete jokes.. this season will be a win. On the flip side, if we could score a PP goal in consecutive games, I would throw a party.

What do you have to chirp about being a Leafs fan ( one of the more ignorant ones ) Your super amazing Leafs are 7 points ahead with 1 more game played and have the exact -9 gf ga differential I would put money on the Devils winning a cup before the Leafs regardless of what shape the Devils franchise is in. You think this is the first half decent team the Leafs have had in the last 40 years ? Get a (frank)ing grip.
