Uh huh bud I wasnt trashing them but the fans who constantly say they only reason the lost a game is because the refs screwed them out of one like wtf does it matter what team I cheer for ? it certainly doesnt make you any smarter because you cheer for one that hasnt won a cup in how many years ? Im sure you know thats why you feel the need to chirp because your team is finally in a play off spot but still likely not ready to make it out of the first round.

Idk, I like what they have going for them. Jagr has been a pleasant surprise and I think they are going to start going with their own prospects. Kovalchuk set them back for a few years but they have their future in net and a decent set of kids coming up. I just wish they would stop with that "hey, you suck" chant after scoring.

Nobody said the refs screwed them out of the game that this thread is about. They played like poop and the result showed it. Fans of all sports/teams mope and complain about referees and missed calls, it is a HUGE part of the culture. But you clearly have a very deep seeded, almost instinctive hatred for the leafs and leaf fans, that you toss about on this site fairly frequently.

Exactly how are you more successful? Don't quote me your 1960's accomplishments as that means nothing right now.

Your single run to the cup should also keep you warm, along with the weather, when you never win a single Stanley Cup as a franchise (before being moved somewhere colder where the people will actually enjoy it.)

Obviously no team compares to Toronto on an all-time grand scale and not even I would dispute that. What's sad is I love the Leads and I think they are one of the most historic franchises in all sports. But I'd be lying if I said I didn't mind their fans. You guys are the RUDEST group of people on the planet and, before you say otherwise, remember that 80% of your population is down here right now clogging up my streets.

Sure, we get nasty with other fans, but it was never unprovoked. If the general populous of NHL fans decides that Toronto is "the team" for everyone to hate on that isn't loyal to them, great, but don't complain when we respond to the ludicrous amount of attention.

Also to your post after this who cares if you have the most cups you dont have any since there have been 30 teams. Devils have been to the scf more recently then the Leafs, have won a cup more recently and all that other poop really nothing who cares if they make the most money when they havent won in decades and yea you are higher in the standings right now and could very well finish higher the Devils could very well miss the playoffs but to say their future is bleak ? you need to pay more attention then Gelinas, Larsson, Merril, Santini and Severson isnt exactly what I would call bleak then guys who are a little older like Henrique, Zajac, Greene Loktionov Schneider. There is a good enough core in place that nothing needs to be blown up like some outsider without a clue might suggest but a retool absolutely.

I rarely comment in other threads, usually only when the Leafs are in town or just played them. If you don't think the Devils should rebuild, perfect, I won't waste my time debating you. I don't know why it's ok to discount the past when it's convenient and not when it doesn't work your way, but many teams can cling to their single cups with ease because of their lack of existence when the leafs were most successful.

This is OUR thread, though. I'm not speaking for the NJD fan and I can certainly go into 15 other blogs of ours and find the same exact type of arguing.

Well compared to the panthers it's pretty easy to have more cups when your team has been around for 80 something more years. But since the panthers have existed they have been even more successful then the leafs which is pretty sad...

The Leafs have not made a Stanley Cup Final since the league expanded beyond 6 teams. Enough said.

I do believe both the Devils and Panthers have. Oh, and the Devils have won a couple of Cup when they didn't have to beat out only 5 teams to do it.

I would quit while you are behind Leaf fan. You are pretty cocky after your team finally made the playoffs for the first time in a decade - only to have the biggest 3rd period choke in playoff history to lose their series.
