It's a penalty, there's nothing Schenn can do there to protect himself. But the 5 minute major is a bad call. It's a 2 minute penalty in my opinion.

I would usually agree with that assessment, but schenn didn't turn into that. its also impossible to never face the wall. you can still hit him and ride him there, just not blast him. I think that one's on the hitter, although I don't think it was a major.

I know Couturier is a core forward on this team but at this point theres no reason for him being on the 2nd PP point. That should be Gus's spot now.

Yeah I take it back. After watching it again it's definitely a penalty but not a major. Flyers dodged a hollow point bullet for not getting a reaction penalty - the Avs feed pissed about Simmonds shot in the scrum afterwards.

Yeah it's a little crazy in their own end a bit. I'm not comfortable with some of the chances and offensive zone possession the Avs had in period 1.
