Never said that. Streit is just miles better offensively than him this year, though.
- JAKEw1234

Streit takes A LOT more risks. He leaves his defense partners hanging out to dry because he joins the rush when he shouldn't.

I agree that Streit is better offensively but not by much. Timonen is worlds ahead of him on defense.

Put Streit out against top lines and see what happens.

Benches must look pretty empty at this point

Its very short sighted. Kimmo misses a couple of wins and streit scores a goal and all of the sudden Streit is better than Kimmo.
- PhillySportsGuy

No. Has nothing to do with Kimmo being out. Has everything to do with Streit playing some damn good hockey since December

Hes in consistent defensively. There is a reason Timonen sees more minutes against tough opponents, on the pk, on the pp and in general.

The Simmonds hook was horsepoop

The Hall crosscheck wasn't far behind

Much better puck support that period and it paid dividends- keep the ice tilted down to the Avs end. Defensive zone puck support was much better that period as well.

Listen.....He may get slaughtered in here for the contract. But you can't deny who the Flyers best defenseman has been this year. It is Mark Streit
- Just5

Well I would disagree with that. He's suspect in his own end. He's the teams best defenseman in the offensive zone and with the puck, but not overall. Mark Streit is a pretty good player with the puck. Without the puck, not so good.

Yeah cosign. Streit hasn't been the best Flyers defenseman this year.

Well, we could have Douglas Murray. I don't recall Gill being as slow as him.

Exactly. Play Streit in the situations that Timonen plays in and see what happens. It's the same thing you always see. Instead of judging a player over a large period, judge him in small segments. That's why you read this player sucks when he has a bad week or two. And how players are also over hyped because they're currently playing well. I learned a long time ago to judge players over the long haul

A poor reaction but Laughton did hit him a bit late. That player got a beating by the hands of former Flyers draft pick Cullen Sullentrop.
