I'm sure he'll look good in 2017, sitting at home collecting 2/3 of his salary.

He'll be playing on this team

Yes I'd say so

You do realize that when the trainer was contacted when Jones found him, the decision was made by the Flyers to put him on a plane home? And only Jones deciding to call an ambulance saved him. So going to the trainers wasn't really a solution that worked there, even as sick as he was 8 hours later than when he first felt bad at the restaurant.
- bodiva88

Yeah, the trainers wanted to put him on a plane. He probably would have died had he followed the trainer's advice.

Good. Now we can have this debate with sane people in the thread.

Could you imagine... That would have been the end of the franchise after such a colossal (frank)up of negligence and callousness.

Streit's advanced Corsi rating proves that he is a premier puck moving defenseman, rivaled only by the 1986 version of Paul Coffey and the 1972 version of Bobby Orr.

But Coburn stinks.

This is HOCKEY BUZZ not the Grudge Report. And note that anyone either conservative or liberal attempting to define either of those entirely nebulous and unpindownable terms is just blowing smoke.

Also consider that the Commissioner has taken a stand to eliminate the political discussion that is at best trolling. Move on. Talk hockey. Or even a little pop culture. But leave the politics for sites where people aren't trying to find a place to relax and have a little fun.

I had to argue, by myself, that Streit isn't our best defenseman last night.

Hard to believe about Letang. I have to agree his season is probably over. I'll hope for a speedy recovery so he'll be back next season ready to go.

Anyone else think Mez is going to be gone before the trade deadline?

But Eric's dad is a monster for writing a letter asking the team to review their procedure for that kind of situation so it wouldn't happen to someone else.

I think it would be better if they hung on to him. I can imagine his agent putting pressure on the Flyers to either play him or move him.

Gus has been so good lately. Its hard to imagine the team would start Mez unless an injury occurs.

Regardless of how high a person's pain threshold is, a reasonable person, especially someone who has played a lot of Hockey and received a lot of the typical aches and pains. Should be able to recognize the difference between that and something serious. In my opinion Lindros acted stupidly, and should've gone to the trainers, and gotten checked out. And it almost cost him his life.

The trainers screwed up also. Doesn't change that Lindros made a bad decision there in my opinion. That he couldn't get comfortable and felt he had to go soak in a tub of water, should've been a sign for him to seek medical attention. Thank God for Keith Jones who seems to have been the only one who acted rational in the whole situation.

He's definitely picked up his game, no doubt. Same with L Schenn. Funny how when the forwards are more committed defensively, the whole team looks better.

Streit with his whirlygigs at the blue line still makes me nervous from time to time, but I'll grant that he seems to know what he's doing there...

Because Eric Lindros may very well have died had Jonesy not called the ambulance.

Wherever anyone wants to put him in the best defenseman on the team ratings. I think the most important thing is that Striet is doing what he was signed for, and has been very effective for a while now. But when the inevitable turn in his play comes, and he has a period of struggles, I'm sure he will suck again.
