Petry for B Schenn? - Just5
Not for me, no -- Schenn's worth more, even with the ridiculous prices for D

Or keep both and don't make a deal just because it fills a need this second. - Jsaquella
That would be my choice, keep the young core guys and have some patience see how they develop.
But this team is as about as patient as the majority of it's fans. So if they do trade a young guy, i rather it not be the two already in the NHL. Although of course i realize Brayden has more value than Laughton. |

Petry for B Schenn? - Just5
Too much, IMO...Petry's sort of like a middle class man's Coburn, or as I saw it put tonight on twitter, Coburn-lite. Solid guy, not worth Schenn. |

I'm not advocating trading B Schenn. He is definitely not an untouchable. But really he seems to be on par as the #2 center for the future of this team. I think he's done a good job, especially with the shuffling of players on his line and many times the poor play of Vinny on his wing. |

Carolina spanking the lowly panthers.
And of course it's looking like Jersey will go into OT and maybe even the Rags game. |

Demand their 1st round pick, it's #2 right now I believe. |

Hey if they can get Schultz for Laughton+, I'm there. It's a fair value. What I want to avoid is something like the Schenns for Hemsky & Petry. |

That's a deal you make at the draft, in front of the drunks who escape Xfinity Live |

I like Schenn, I think he's a good player who's only going to get better. Needs to find some consistency. Has too many dry spells, and he's in the midst of one now. But he's still young. Lecavalier is going to come on after the break. |

Exactly -- but for me, I don't even view him as Coburn-lite. IMO, he feels like a 5/6 on a really good team, and Coburn's easily a Top 4 with a cheap contract, to boot

Yeah, maybe a more mobile Meszaros...Outside of Schultz he's the guy I like most on their roster. |

I agree. I like what Gustafson is bringing to the ice lately. I'd rather keep giving him playing time then giving up assets for a guy like Petry. Another defenseman who is primarily a defensive defenseman.

What their #1 for B Schenn? I do that by the way. Kinda crazy but the oil would have to have some kind of plan to dump gagner i'd think |

Just tossing out names. There's only a few names that really intrigue me that I think Edmonton would move and who the Flyers can fit cap wise. |

Speaking of Coby, guys been with this team since 06/07, i think that's the longest current tenure of any player?
Can't tell if that's impressive or not with how much roster turnover there is with this team. Feels like he's been around forever and he's still only 28.
He's a survivor that's for sure |

Hemsky of two, three years ago...if he had gotten out of there then, he'd be a different guy.
But now...he just looks like a worn-down finesse player. Admire the skills he had, but I don't believe he can do that at a playoff-contending level anymore |

And at a 5M Cap hit, no thanks. Unless maybe they'd take Meszaros, but why would they do that? One UFA for another.

There's not really a need for the Flyers & Hemsky, unless they're moving somebody else out |

Agree with you and JSaq -- see, that's what I meant. Earlier in the year, when both teams were struggling and the Flyers were trying to kill Couturier's career by playing him with guys who couldn't score, I could've seen Hemsky coming in and playing with Couturier -- he's not bad defensively, as far as hockey sense is concerned.
But to me, Edmonton missed the boat on that, because Michael Raffl stepped up his play and Steve Downie came in and helped stabilize Couturier for that stretch when he, Read and Couturier were killing it...and now there's no real need.

It's something to watch...there's been smoke between the Flyers & Oilers since the draft. It reminds me of all the JvR/Schenn rumors in the 2011-12 season |

No, you're right -- I'm totally surprised that they're in Newark tonight. But they've been talking for so long, both sides want something from the other |
