All true, and I don't disagree with that. All I'm saying is that I haven't seen any reason why Gus should not be playing. Now if they still want to keep Meszaros fresh, and still have hopes of trading him, so be it. I just think Gustafsson deserves the chance to establish himself as a regular NHL defenseman. Going to be hard to do moving in and out of the lineup.

What a waste.

Vinny is really starting to make me angry. He doesn't even think about doing other than pass the puck. He's like a scared freshman out there who's smaller than anyone else and just wants to get the puck off his stick as fast as possible. He forces passes that aren't there and doesn't look like he even thinks about shooting. How easy is that to defend?

That play down low is the perfect example. How many choices does he have there? He's alone down at the goal line. He could shoot for a goal (the five hole was gaping and so were corners....Berra was really not in good position in my opinion), he could shoot for a rebound, or he could pass to the point. What is it that he did? Exactly what you shouldn't- force a pass through the slot that wasn't there.

He has no confidence. The break hopefully helps him because he's been a liability in the last few weeks.
