You have to watch it.... It's a must see.
I'll guarantee it's better than the new one.
I wasn't even interested in watching the new one but I might catch it at Redbox for free. - jochfr

Agreed. Original is a masterpiece. I'm still mad they even remade it. |

I watched it with my ex-wife. She picked it out thinking it was a martial arts movie.... Something like Crouching tiger.... We were both surprised.

Sounds about right. I don't want no 6m goalie either. He can try to get that after we win a cup. - cabin
I have a feeling a 6 million goalie in a couple years will be the equivalent of a 4 million goalie this year. Especially with the cap on the rise. So I think we will see the 6 million range the norm. But I get what you are saying. You don't want your highest paid player to be your goalie. I personally don't think it matters much as long as you put a solid team in front of him. This team in my eyes could have won the cup with Miller at the helm making what he was making but Darcy franked it up. But that's history. |

Get a legit goalie, 2 d men, keep mcdonald and get a veterin winger and they are in the mix for the bottom 4 playoff spots
do nothing and they are 26th-30th next year - homiedclown
Yep, but they still have to make the decision on deferring or not before they start to make improvements to the team.
Will be hard to sell to the fanbase giving up a top 5 pick, getting better in FA, and then not picking high in 2015. |

We wouldve been a serious contender now if we had let Vanek walk on that RFA sheet.
For one we wouldve had the money to keep Campbell on the back end. Vanek was not going to make Edmonton a playoff team. They might not have been as bad as 1st overall with Vanek, but thats still two 1st round picks for 4 straight years. We probably wouldve been the top 3 pick team. Eight top 14 picks in a 4 year span. We wouldve been a contender now. |

McDonald already rejected their "best offer"
Rumor is they will trade him.
So they need 2 top 4 d men, a top 6 dman, a goalie, and 2 veteran wingers.
That's a lot to do, especially for a dysfunctional NYI team. |

Looking back if Darcy would have signed Drury and Briere to matching 5 year 25 Million contracts that was talked about and let Vanek go they would have kept Dumont and Campbell. Those first round picks would have been in the 5-10 range IMO and we could have had one of these players:
2008:
There were trades made but we actually drafted Myers in Edmontons spot but we would have had a 3rd first round pick that year and counting Hodgson being here could have had 4 first rounders from that year playing on this team. How about a draft where we got Myers, Erik Karlsson, and Tyler Ennis and added Hodgson
2009:
Edmonton had the 10th pick in the draft the first round was not a strong draft class that year pick selection wise outside the top 7
2010:
Hall, Seguin, Skinner, Schwartz and Tarasenko (I hate the Blues) would have been a hell of a draft (we took Pysyk with the 23rd)
2011:
RNH, Landeskog, Huberdeau, Strome, Couturier, Dougie Hamilton just to name a few.
Yeah we would be in a much different spot. Ugh |

they offered him 4 mil per year for 4 years?
tough pill to swallow when your making 500k, logging 26 minutes of ice time per game and clearly their best d man

sign briere, let drury walk
sign campbell before the season fr 30 mil
instead of overpaying hecht and goose, pay them market value to stick or move them at rentals
be more active in acquiring young talent via trades
end the tim connolly experiment long before they did
and take the 4 picks for vanek
that should have been the blue print |

Could you imagine in 3 years....
Reinhart
Drasaitl (Islanders pick)
Eichel
All on the Sabres.... - sbroads24
I can't imagine the NYI not using this years pick if it remains this high
If it ends up being closer to 10, then I could see them pass it to us
The dream is...
2014 Reinhart
2015 McDavid
2015 Eichel (NYI pick)
I do think NYI will have a hard time attracting UFAs this offseason... So there's a really good chance they stink again next year
Vanek is gone... Strome won't be productive right away, so they prob need TWO top6 guys
What to do in net?
And if McDonald leaves, then they need AT LEAST two quality defensemen
For a team that hasn't won in forever,
And was crappy this year...
MAYBE they can buy 1 or two pieces, but those would just replace Vanek & McDonald, so they'd again likely be crap |

Plus I think they will attempt the Philly model of getting a goaltender which we all know doesn't work |

Teams tend to just turn the corner. Colorado has 0 defense yet because of their speed and decent goaltending they are a good team. I can guarantee the Isles won't finish bottom 2 next season. Not to mention they will make a coaching change this off season
