Miller not in the net for team USA is a huge mistake.
I really really hope that I am wrong!
Anyway, GO TEAM USA |

Kind of funny everyone has eliminated the Slovaks already.
Losing Gaborik, Visnovsky and of course Demitra will hurt, but this is the team that nearly pushed Canada to the brink last Olympics in the semi-final game.
How easily people forget that 3-2 score.
This tournament is far from a lock, especially for the arrogance NA brings to it. |

*Olympics. My bad. I'd personally love for none of the NA teams to medal. Hockey is more than just the "NHL". |

It is, but for the most part, the best players are in the NHL and the majority of the NHL is from NA....
Anything could happen but if I had to lay money on the line, it would be on Canada and I would also bet that if you had to lay money on the line, it would also be on Canada. |

I love Cinderella stories, but anyone who says that Canada is not going to walk all over everyone is seriously just trying to be modest or drunk. When the reigning scoring leader is your LAST pick...you've got a pretty solid squad. Price and Luongo can hold down the fort. Sure, people can bring up Luongo's playoff shorts as a bad thing, but the way I see, he won an olympic gold,2 presidents trophies, western conference championship and was 1 win away from a cup in the last 4 years...that sounds like a pretty good resume to me. Anything can happen in single elimination, but it's their gold to lose. |

Not sure I agree with the statement "It is relatively clear the most talented defense is playing for Team USA."
In my mind the players in contention for best defenseman in the league are, Keith, Suter, Pietrangelo, Weber and Doughty.
4 of which are on team Canada. |

Fixed.
Hockey has become exorbitantly expensive to play in Canada and as a result the talent pool of Canadian youth has shrunk. Once Canadians realize what its doing to our national program and cease making it only a sport for the wealthy, it will be corrected. Throw all the numbers at it you like you guys simply dont live the game like we do. I do agree to a certain extent and think that sooner or later the US will produce a true generational talent. and then we get to watch the fun as he will be proclaimed better than Gretzky. - sanfordnson
And to support and expand on these points... Very few nations have a population that are surrounded by frozen bodies of water like Canada has. The Americans can build as many arenas as they like but when u have a population that can walk into their own backyard with skates on for 4 months of the year like Canada, arenas can't compete. We are born to skate. It's an evolutionary advantage. Go Canada |

Canada may not win. They might not even get a medal.
