USA fans, as usual, are overconfident and think their team is "USA NUMBER ONE!" when in reality the rest of the world was laughing as their team was announced. |

They looked pretty good today. I'm not too sure why so many think the American's have a lesser team. I think they are the second/third most balanced team. Great goaltending, solid d and forwards which are tough to play against. Easily a medal threat. |

Agree...
thinking it is a four horse race looking at the rosters: Russia, Canada, Sweden and USA... And they could finish in ANY order IMO.
Just outside that top four is the Finns... who always seem to surprise too. Czechs look a little soft this year, Slovaks didn't have much in them today. |

If we are talking about the favorite on paper to win the Olympics in hockey every 4 years, Canada will always be it, its not even an argument. With that said, anything can happen in these types of tournaments. I think personally its Canada & Sweden as the 2 favorites for gold, and basically a 3 way race for bronze with Russia, USA, and the Czechs. |

Looks like you got this one completely wrong! USA 7, Slovakia 1. Chara and company gave up in the 2nd. Halak shelled and Budjai not much better. Miller was busier than Quick opening and closing the doors. So much for goalies ruling the Olympics. |

My team is USA of course, but obviously hands down Canada has the best Offense and Defense. USA has the goalies and a solid line up at least. Quick will determine USA's future in this 2014 tourny as he will be seeing a lot more shots coming up. If he plays like he did last playoffs (minus Chi series) and the year before that, then USA can have a decent shot still.
Quick just needs to stand on his head to give his team a chance to score. I am realistic and know it is a long shot, but I would bet at least for a medal. |

Coming from an American, I find this hilarious. But worldly opinion aside, have you seen the medal standings recently? - Fanman

Nah we only laugh about 1993 the last time a Canadian team won a cup...speaking of "overconfident" |

Typical of Americans to have a false sense of pride when these American teams that have all won Cups all have had Canadian and European players at their core. |

Something wrong with rooting for your country and your team all of sudden or is it just when an American roots for the USA? |

His argument was that USA is better at hockey because American teams have won every Cup since 1994. His e-peen no doubtedly shrivelled up like a frightened turtle when he just now realized most players on those teams were Canadian and European. Nothing to do with the Olympics.
Nothing wrong with rooting for your country but claiming this U.S. team is in any way superior to Canada's is laughable at best. |
