Except they play consistently solid hockey and overachieve
- PhillySportsGuy

Well there are differences between the two, yes. But some Flyers overachieve: Jay Rosehill overachieves. He's appeared in 10+ games, which is a major overachievement. I think he may even have a point or two.

He had a goal against Edmonton at home. That was the game G scored his first goal. That was a good day. Marked the start of a turnaround for the team. All started by Rosehill

And we named Fraud Giroux captain? Obviously Rosehill is the straw that stirs the Shirley Temple (RIP).

When fully healthy? I'd switch Sweden and Canada and Switzerland/Czechs.

I thought about moving Switzerland up but I'm not sure. It's really close though. A good Olympics from them could vault them ahead of Finland who is transitioning a bit.

I still have canada number 1. They won the last Olympics and always have a great team. I think they'll struggle in Russia though. I really like the USA chances

Although they're not in medal contention, I have a question about the Norweigans concernign the Flyers. IF they felt so inclined, would/could OKT make this Flyers defense? I mean, we have a lot of puck movers and could use a shutdown guy like him. But really, would he be ahead the following guys: Schenn, Grossmann, Gus, Mez, Gill?

Also, with Zetterberg done, I think Russia jumps into the #3 spot for this tournament, although Finland has a shot. All you need is some good defense and a hot goalie or, on the other end, a complete meltdown in a tournament like this (see: Sweden-Belarus in 2002)

No. He was terrible when he was here. Trading him for Leino was a great move by Homer. It's often overlooked because Leino has gone on to become a running joke in Buffalo

I was more talking about overall and not for this particular tournament. Like how soccer has overall rankings before the World Cup begins.

Losing Zetterberg is huge. He was swedes best player in their first game

Some of my friends had shirts made up during the 2010 playioffs that were #22 and the nameplate read, "OKT + a 5th." I think they ended up selling a hundred and actually made a few bucks.

I want to root for the Swiss, they work hard in all three zones but just don't have the offensive talent.

If they can tie the Czechs, they'll probably be in the elimination round. If they beat the Czechs they'll definitely be in

I know, I was just mentioning it as an aside. When fully healthy, Sweden's either 2 or 3 after Canada, maybe the USA. Sweden is a bit top-heavy on offense, but they have an exceptional defense and Lundqvist. The USA doesn't have any of the star power or Canada, Sweden, or Russia, but is much more like a team with the way it's constructed as opposed to an All Star gathering.
