Do you think if it came down to who is the better player in making the team, that Kunitz makes the team over Giroux? Kunitz is a Winger. Giroux is a playmaking Center. Giroux was competing with Crosby, Toews, and Getzlaf for a spot. Kunitz and Giroux were not competing for a spot on the team. It's not an All Star team where you pick the best 25 players and that's the team. It's how players fit with how they want to play, chemistry with other players, and putting players in the right position. Giroux not making the team was not based on not being a good enough player, or because they felt that Kunitz was a better player. It was because they didn't feel he was a fit on the Wing. And he got beat out by Crosby, Toews, and Getzlaff.
