Teemu and Kimmo biking to the game.

Kimmo's riding with just one hand on the handlebars... like a BOSS.

Kimmo simply glares at the bicycle and it goes in the right direction all on it's own.

As Bill mentioned, focus has always been on other sports such as cross country skiing with a rifle and just cross country skiing primarily. In recent times downhill skiing, and the newer additions of x-games sports.

Also, it is much more affordable to have people buy a pair of cross country planks rather than investing in rinks and an insane amount of gear.

The sport is coming along nicely though, and I am sure matches such as the one we just saw will contribute to the sports popularity and hopefully more players. I have already started molding my 1-year-old into a goon with the aim of being drafted by the flyers in the 6th round - Åsmund Rosehill rings so nice.

Thank, man.

There will always be a place on the Flyers for goons. Much to our chagrin.

Terrible indeed. 4 minutes of Hall mic'd up followed by a cliche filled interview.

I was hoping this episode would be titled (frank) you, Raffl!.

Gotta temper the expectations...it's an official team venture, they're not going to give you much controversy or anything that approaches looking questionable.

Anyone know where one can watch highlights of ANY of the men's hockey matches?

If they can't hit informative, or compelling, the least they could do is hit entertaining. Aside from a few scattered laughs, and one blurred out whiteboard, it's been pretty random and incoherent.

I'd like it to be more informative. I know they didn't just draft Morin because he might hit somebody with his bleeping stick, but I'd like more in depth stuff than that...I haven't watched last couple of episodes.

that happens organically with timmay leading the way. no need to "produce" anything.

what i meant was anything interesting/compelling/controversial happens all on its own via the media led by dramaccio. i wasn't suggesting he's involved with the show.

I gotcha...I just meant I wish Flightplan delved more deeply into the nuts and bolts...it's more a high school newspaper than in depth look at the team

Russia is incredibly corrupt. You should hear the stories he tells about it. Lets just say it's cheaper in Russia to pay bribes to officials than to go through the courts to get something resolved, so the police or whoever shake down people.

Why do you think these games are so ridiculously expensive? I left Russia 20 years ago, and completely agree with your colleague's assessment.

So the 3 nhl.com mock drafts have Flyers picking 16th . I think that's actually a very good place to be. It's almost the highest possible pick for a playoff team. The 3 drafts have us taking one of:

Sonny Milano (LW, "Magic Hands", awesome name, Americano);

Anthony DeAngelo (D, "Dynamic skating, puck-moving defender; a game-changer", from Philadelphia);

Adrian Kempe (RW, "Big Swedish forward doesn't mind throwing his body around... possesses great speed")

My hope is they either take DeAngelo, or make a reach pick and take Demko (The highest rated goalie in the draft)

They were saying that a road built from Sochi to the mountains would have actually been cheaper to build with caviar if done without that factor

Anthony DeAngelo is not somebody I'd take before pick #20 Have others in mind for that spot.

Don't think I'd take a goalie that high either.

I'd probably look at

Jared McCann
Jake Virtanen
Julius Honka
Nikolaj Ehlers
Aaron Haydon

Maybe Demko.

Shouldn't say I wouldn't take a goalie that high, if he's the BPA, then yes.

Joshua Ho-Sang is interesting. Much of his junior career he's tried to do a lot by himself & limit anything in the D zone.

But when he wants to use his team mates it just enhances what he can do offensively.
