It's not like Raymond's being tightly checked or anything...

Putting young players in a secondary scoring roll is exactly what you want to do to bring them into the NHL.

Putting them on teh top line would be throwing them to the wolves.

- Feeling Glucky?

Next September ...yes. Not going into the playoffs.

- Dozzer

Again......a---gain.
A little sandpaper...when he is not scoring...not much....not much at all....but a little for a guy his size.

What does that mean?

Think it through. If you're heading for the playoffs you add guys for depth and experience. Nobody wants both McL and Orr in the lineup in the playoffs not even Carlyle. Raymond can play on the 3rd line (unless you add somebody better) and is better suited to take some shift in the top 6 than Smith et al. if an injury would occur.

You must really really want that 2nd or 3rd pick.

- The Law

That 2nd round pick will be more useful in his career than Raymond.

40 point players who add nothing but offense dont do well in playoffs.

Raymond has been invisible on the 2nd line for months now. So you expect him to magically produce in a top 6 role in the playoffs when things are intensified?

Please.

What are we? Contenders trying to make a deep run? It's silly to hold on to a piece like Raymond when you're likely 2 - 3 years away from being taken seriously.

It's okay to allow the rookies from the farm a game or two in the playoffs for experience. Much better for the future.

- Aaron85

Nice. Then lets move Raymond, Bolland, Kulemin, Franson, Reimer, etc....

How many teams have more than six guys with over 18 pts right now? Probably not many.
- prock

What does 18pts right now matter? what are you getting at??

and i'd say all??looked at half (got bored) and only Buff had 6 with more than 18pts (they had 6).

Kulemin provides a lot more than Raymond does when he isnt putting up points.

Bolland, too.

Both are better for playoffs than Raymond.

Sorry that is his playoff numbers not this years season numbers.

Right now he has 35 pts and is on pace for 48.

Again....if he is traded for something that benefits the team....do it!
He's not the best player by any stretch...but he's been a decent pick up and has helped the team

- Fakepartofme

a draft pick benefits the team.

You add guys for depth for a playoff run when you're expecting your team to make a real run.

Teams like Chicago, Boston, LA and Pitts add depth like Raymond for a 1st or 2nd round pick.

Let's be realisitic here, our D is no where near ready for a 7 game series in the later rounds of playoffs.

Yes. Because saying we need Raymond to make a playoff run, and saying he adds sandpaper because he has 29 hits this season (Only 9 more than Kessel) isnt nonsense to you.

Hypocrite much?

- jbold

I didnt see why need him in order to make a playoff run....I said if Nonis believes this team can win a series, Raymond will be useful depth.

Then you asked when he's not scoring what does he does or provide......I said a little sandpaper....not grit....just a little soft sandpaper.

So no i dont hypocrite much....so again...quit fox newsing!

Except Raymond, in his entire career, has never been useful in the playoffs.

Sweet. So now you're changing "Little sandpaper" to.. "Not grit.. Just some soft sandpaper".

(frank) youre hilarious.

Dont try to change what you originally meant because you realized how wrong and dumb you sounded.

You thought Raymond added sandpaper and now you're saying he adds "Some soft sandpaper" ?

i guess you dont remember orr being assigned to chara last year

you need toughness in the post season more than anything..

since you guys are so high on raymond maybe you should look at his 18P in 55GP over his career in the playoffs

good for 0.327PPG
