So what your arguement then? We shouldn't use Lou because he won gold then? - Yeti1181
I've stated it about ten times. Canada had the strongest team. The strongest offense. The strongest defense. Nowhere near the strongest goaltending. They won because of their offense and defense.
What is your argument? Because it sounds to me like you think that canada won gold therefore their goalie must have been the best goalie. Weird, because I think sometimes, just sometimes, a team beats another team with better goaltending. I mean, did the rangers go 82 wins last year? And the year before? Doesn't that make corey Crawford the beat goalie in the league?
I'd be starting price. He's a better goalie at this point. Unfortunately I think Canada's goaltending is weak overall. Price is the only chance at getting top goaltending this year, as he has been putting that up so far. Luongo just isn't a top goaltender anymore. And he was not one of the better goaltenders in 2010, in the Olympics.
Luongo isn't a bad goalie. Certainly not a top goalie anymore. |

So if I was in net we would have won gold?
Edit: I'm actually an amazing road/floor hockey goalie. - Yeti1181
No. Austria's goalie behind team canada stands a chance at winning a medal. Team Canada's goalie behind Austria doesn't.
You seem to think that because I say he was among the weaker goalies in Vancouver that somehow means he was terrible? Not really. He just doesn't measure up against other countries elite goalies.
Not many Canadian goalies have in recent years. Not sure why. The majority of elite goalies have come from other countries since brodeur and Roy declined/retired. |

You keep saying that but all the stats prove otherwise and you keep saying you re using stats but you haven't used it once to prove anything. I have said we didn't have the strongest goalie but to say we won despite having bad goaltending is wrong and as our goaltending was good.
Oh and Crawford doesn't play for the rangers

What stats exactly?
Yes I know crawford plays for the hawks. You seem to think that since they won the cup he's the best goalie.
I'm saying I'd the beat goalie always won, the rangers would go 82-0, and win the cup. Best goalie in the NHL as far as I'm concerned. |

I doubt having the Austrian goalie in our net we would have won gold. You can't honestly compare Louong a top ten goalie in the NHL to a guy who plays 4 league lower. Lou got us the saves we needed to win couple more goals he lets in somewhere else and we lose.
I'm arguing the fact because the stats say he was not one of the weaker goalies in the tournament yet you keep saying he was. |

Bored as hell so just some thoughts....Future.
Van Riemsdyk - Bozak - Kessel -----Why break them up there playing great...
Tuch - Kadri - Clarkson -----Clarkson's been playing decent...Lupul's old...draft Tuch
Holland - Gauthier - Biggs ----- Gauthiers a 3rd liner..Biggs probably is too..Hollands good
Broll/Bodie - R. Rupert - M.Rupert ----Rupert twins = Komarov x 2...Broll/Bodie can play
Phaneuf - Girardi
Rielly - Finn
Percy - Granberg
Bernier/Reimer
I really think the Ruperts could be good for the Leafs...I see them play all the time and man do other teams hate them... |

Nor did I say he was the worst. Canada beat the Slovaks. Halak was the better goalie that day. For sure. Halak stood on his head that tournament and very nearly stole them a medal. He almost stole them a chance at gold for that matter.
Miller was easily the beat goalie in the tournament. That's the final two games canada won. Yet, they won despite the other team getting better goaltending. Canada won despite getting outplayed in goal. Despite their goaltending, they won. |

Five, not four.
And when your talking twelve teams, five of them who they should probably just make a tier two for, five is not great.
But hey, some teams that got no medal at all got better goaltending. |

Just because a goalie out played Roberto does not mean we won despite our goaltending. If our offense was so great we should have blown them out of the water but we didn't. If we get up against a hot goalies our goalie still has to play well and stop the shots we need to win. |

Sure. Tell you what, if it makes you feel better, I'll rephrase.
Canada won gold in 2010 because its group of forwards were far better than everyone else's, its defense was far better than everyone else's, and its goaltending was good enough not to blow it for the rest of the team. Barely. |

That's why I thought it was funny Lou got blamed for the Stanley cup finals when the whole team didn't play well, in fact he might have been one of the better players in the final. |
