Also, lets be real.
Raymond hurt the Leafs 2nd line with Kadri and Lupul. They were invisible when Raymond was on it. Minute Carlyle put Clarkson/Kule on it, they got hot. - jbold

but again he hasnt been useless and implying he has.....is simply incorrect. - Fakepartofme
He's extremely useless when he isnt putting up points. So yes, when he goes into those cold stretches, he's pretty damn useless.
With Bolland, Holland and Smith coming back, Raymond for a 2nd rounder is pretty damn sexy at this point. |

Mckegg coming around too. - burn
Granberg and Percy have been real solid as well, MacWilliams is coming around, overly aggressive at times but man he lays out a few bone crunching hits every game.
The only one I'm disappointed is in Ross, thought he would be an effective agitator, but he is still young and can grow into that role with playing time. |

he isnt worth keeping.. this guy will be looking for 3 to 4 million next year
he has also played himself out of a top 6 role
so just so i am straight.. you want to keep a guy who will give us limited production in a bottom 6 role just because he started the season hot? - Dozzer
Im not saying we have to keep him......I only argued that the leafs wouldnt miss him.

Swiss outshoot Sweden 13-5 but still 0-0 through 20 min - burn
Its almost shocking the swiss manages a single shot with the best defensive pairing in the tournament playing 80% of the time. I've heard that guy Karlsson is a defensive rock. |

Im not disagreeing with the bolded.
Only disagreed with the "Leafs wont miss a beat" part. Raymond has been useful and has been a steal at his price.
Sure he's made mistakes....but on this leaf team...that's not a short list. |

They wouldnt.
Would they miss his offense? Not really, because Bolland and Holland coming back, they can easily do what Raymond does.
You keep bringing up how useful Raymond is.
How useful is he in his cold streaks? What does he do when he isnt putting up points? |

Gotta agree. Lets make sure Bolland's healthy before we go into "sell" mode with anybody. Raymond is still a better option than Holland going into the playoffs and certainly a better option than Smith. Has Smith turned into everybody's new Joey Crabb? |

Imagine him with Bolland?
But yea, he hasn't been what I was hoping, either. I saw Tucker Jr. in him.
At least we didn't give up much for him... Hayes is sliding into bust territory. |
