Do they want the 2nd rounder or the depth going into the playoffs? (frank) the 2nd rounder lets win some hockey games. - The Law
Raymond isnt a difference maker.
And if you look at his point totals, he goes cold in the playoffs.
Probably because players, including gys like Kessel, step up and sacrifice themselves, take hits, ect.
But Raymond is still soft and scared. |

anyone else get a Kyle Wellwood feeling with Brown?
wellfed put up 120 or so points - senstroll
Difference is Brown goes to the dirty areas and competes hard.
No guarantee he makes it though. |

I have a feeling Raymond wouldn't be more than a space-filler in the playoffs, not even depth.

raymond isn't going to win any playoff games. With Holland and Smith not playing right now we have depth + mckegg and leivo heating up in the A.
raymond is expendable

But we're talking depth and experience. Trade Raymond, hit a couple of injuries (fairly common in the playoffs) and all of a sudden you're dressing McLaren and Orr or calling up rookies from the farm. The Leafs shouldn't be moving guys out ….unless they're going to also bring some guys in. Maybe swap Raymond for some 3rd line grit? |

I'm not pumpin' Raymond's tires but surely he's better than Smith, Orr, etc... and a better option then throwing McKegg and Leivo to the wolves. |

He's also a little taller. Still hopefully can fill out a little more than wellwiod and in a different way.

FYI, Brown was putting up points without McDavid. And he continued to when he was out of the lineup.
I'm not even sure they're playing together full time anymore. - burn
Yeah Brown is seeing a lot of time with Brenden Gaunce now. I think Gaunce is actually benefitted from it more than Brown. Brown makes his own chances and is developing a pretty lethal wristshot that's getting more and more accurate.
Solid all around game. Not sure if his skill level translates as well to the nhl, but that's a project I'd take on my team any day |

There's a reason he was still UFA in September. But for the price, meh, he's not a liability imho. |

Agreed on both. We're getting what we put in, more maybe even. But we can move him for something and replace him without missing a beat.
Get an asset and move on. |

Who falls more on their own accord..... Stajan or Raymond??
from what I see he doesn't have good on-ice vision/hockey sense.
How many of his goals have come off soft wristers that the goalie wiffed on?? |
