I'm interested, but I don't think we can get it done. I don't think a Giroux deal is possible to be honest. - Nucker101
I'd like to think it is. |

If you're willing to discuss a Neal for Staal+ deal or Neal-Grioux deal once your trade goes through then let me know. - Nucker101

If you think he's worth Giroux then you should just keep him cause you value him more than what you'll get for him. |

I think you value Price over Giroux since the guys you want with Giroux are worth more than the ones you're offering with Price IMO. We disagree on the main principal of the deal. |

I've dated 2 Russian girls in my life. The high looks seem to come with a general deficiency on the mental-stability meter. Might have been just the ones I came across though. - AlexF

If you had a half decent goaltender Id understand your POV, but you don't. Maybe asking for Giroux was a bit of a reach, but I don't want to be trading Price for a bunch of spare parts either. I'd rather trade Bobrovsky if all I'm really getting is a few players who might be good in a few years.
Obviously there's a middle ground. You want to reach it or what? |

I recall Babcock talking about what great goalies are and saying that you are not great unless you outperform in the playoffs and ultimately win the cup - he didn't refer to Luongo but the conversation was in and around Luo. So I am not surprised Carey got the start. Anyway Carey is having a great year so there you go....feel bad for Luo - the guy is always getting in uncomfortable places....
On Babcock I don't think he is such a rock star coach. He is good, and he coaches Detriot but I thought there should have been another choice made. Watching all the games confirms my feelings on him. He keeps it too simple - chip, chase, cycle, pass shot with traffic. That might be fine a lot of the time but I would have thought we would be more creative....I do see the teams lining up on the blue line so there is an element of dumping it in necessary but I think the style is not dynamic enough to represent the talent we are supporting. Anyway he is not winning too much in Detroit either so why not give Hitch a shot .......or how about D. Sutter Bruce B or Dave Tippet? These guys got more jam than Babcock IMO
I also agree with what Doug Maclean said on Sportsnet - why are all the lines being juggled for Crosby to get going? Doesn't make sense to me - we have tons of talent. You got 3 lines going but you switch it all around for Crosby (and Kunitz) to get going?
On another note I keep wishing we could pull off an epic trade for Weber. That guy is awesome. What would it take? Kesler, Edler, and a 2nd? Too much?
Healey is a major knob - can't stand listening to him. I was watching the NBC feed a little also and I have to say that Egghead Macquire was not nearly as annoying which was surprising...

This is a 10-day tournament with virtually no practice time for a team thrown together with guys from different teams. There is absolutely no way that any sort of system can be implemented outside of te simplest form. It takes teams that have been together for a while months to adjust to a new coach's system. Tournament like this requires a coach who can adjust on the fly and kind of make it up as he goes. A guy like Hitch would be terrible in that situation.

Never happen ,none of it. We are not signing a 6.5 mil Callahan for 6 years and we will never have Weber in an Orca uniform |

well i mean more Hitch's standard system that he employs in the NHL.
i'll reserve judgment on MB till after. 3 games, 3 wins. i'm not concerned with style points. we've won gold before with lesser performances in the opening round. |

I really hope that the Olympic break will give the GM's more free time to actually work out some deals and make for an interesting TDL. Not holding my breath for a significant deal from MG though, as I think the draft will be when the biggest move will be made. The cap will be up and a few more compliance buyouts will take place allowing for more teams to be in the market for an expensive core player. I'll be pissed if Gillis' moves to start the re-tool will involve trading a guy like Tanev and/or even Hansen instead of an older core guy.
Hopefully the team doesn't try rushing guys back from injury either. #TankNation |
