Jesus. I'm thinking it was a knee by the Phantoms? It looked like the hit was a bit off-center, but they panned away.
Edit: Box score indicates a high stick.
Also, good on Clarkie (well, okay, McGinn) for giving him the business. How those 2 players got loose to jump him is beyond me. - jmatchett383
There had to be stuff that happened earlier. Heeter is going to get an automatic 10 gamer for leaving the bench. There will be a number of suspensions I think. Terry Murray will probably get suspended too.

Heeter must have thought with the Goalie pulled that they were out manned. But with the extra attacker it was even. - MJL
Im pretty sure he can count. I think it had more to do with goalies only being allowed to fight other goalies as an unwritten rule. Players aren't supposed to fight goalies because its much easier to punch without all of that padding.
Heeter shouldn't have left the bench. Its not a big deal as the Phantoms won't be making the playoffs anyway.

Ray Emery has fought both Andrew Peters (Sabres/Sens brawl) and Peter Vandermeer (Adirondack/Binghamton). But then again, it's Ray Emery.
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. … The American Hockey League today announced that Bridgeport Sound Tigers right wing Justin Johnson has been suspended a total of six (6) games as a consequence of his actions in a game at Norfolk on Jan. 4.
Johnson received an automatic three-game suspension under the provisions of AHL Rule 46.11 for accumulating his fifth instigating misconduct this season. In addition, Johnson was suspended three games under the provisions of AHL Rule 28.1 (supplementary discipline) as a consequence of leaving the players’ bench on a legal line change for the purpose of starting an altercation.
Seeing as I don't think they'd count it as a "legal line change" I'm not sure.
Rockford IceHogs right wing Andrew Shaw has been suspended for six (6) games as a consequence of his actions in a game vs. Lake Erie on Nov. 3. Shaw was assessed a game misconduct for leaving the players’ bench for the purpose of starting an altercation.
I would like the NHL to give 3 points for regulation wins like they do in the Olympics. Teams like the Capitals and Leafs get too much benefit from being good at the skills competition.
May have missed this, but what are the thoughts on Panotch's article (if you want to call it that) on not moving Morin in a deal for Weber? Personally I'd move just about anything except G/Voracek/Simmonds for Weber. Morin could be a monster, but still a big question mark. Either way, it's worth going out and getting Weber now that it appears Nashville COULD move him.

They Flyers were willing to trade the firsts that were essentially Morin plus the next 3 for him. Since then, all he's done is produce at the same rate. Outside of a package containing Giroux or Couturier, I'd be okay having Morin or anyone included, although Simmonds would be hard to part with (he'd have to be a centerpiece of the deal, not an "also.").
