I'd consider other returns.
But I am trying to free up a roster spot, so I don't want to take on extra players.
I suppose I'd do a one for one if the deal made sense. - Fosco
You freeing up the roster spot for Brodeur? |

Any interest in Downie? - Chest Rockwell
Not really.
He's just having a down year, but I don't really have the desire to trade for him right now. |

No.
Actually hadn't noticed you dropped him until now.
Just have a couple players expected off IR soon, and I wouldn't mind a 2nd (or 1st, of course) round pick.
Your offer is interesting, but I'm going to wait and see what else comes up. I've had some chatter regarding one of the guys you want.
Plus, you're asking for one of my favourite players |

I dropped him cause it looks like no one is going to put in a solid offer for one of my netminders. I saw that Subban was available, so I thought why not grab him now; and just build through the draft?
Im willing to trade Pat Marleau for a high 1st rounder if anyone is interested. |

Any thoughts on that Mike Babcock clip of his reaction to a stupid question re it would have been better to beat Finland in regulation to have an easier opponent.... or something like that? As if the team wasn't trying or taking the opponent seriously.
Anyway, I think it was LeBrun who asked it, and he acted like it was a question all reporters wanted answered.
Anyway, I think he asked it after Babcock had just spoken on how hard the team was playing and you can't expect the path to Olympic gold to be easy and it shouldn't be.
(Really summarized.)

Thanks for the Pierogie info, i have noticed a few nationalities claim the delicious delight to be their own however the best one's i have ever had came from the various polish deli's around MTL. Sooooooooooo dam good - Whiskey-Tango
I know, @#@# delicious! (must be nice to have a quality source of said delight - just another reason to like Montreal (to offset my disdain for Les Habitants ) What kind of filling(s) do you like?
Edit: I've had ones even filled with blueberries |

Looks like his motorboat'n face, so I'd guess the boob-grab event...
Yeah, some interesting comments from the Canadian snowboarder about Putin and the budget for the Olympics.
Sounds like a good chunk of the $50-billion went to a Bluth-like approach to building—make everything look good on the outside and screw the foundation and interior. Putin's model houses...
Apparently some of the recent building is already showing damage.
Putin's definitely getting a reputation boost with some of his jovial behavior in the media, but we'll see several years from now when all the buildings are crumbling from not having the money for upkeep, and the conditions are even worse than they are now throughout the rest of the country... - Fosco
I'm not too sure about the longevity concerns related to the Sochi infrastructure as the geographical location amounts to nothing more then a small tourist village, meaning the massive stadium in which the hockey is played seems as though it might not serve much of a purpose post games.
One thing i don't get about all the lost money concerns related to Olympics games is that i thought a large fraction of the revenue used to create the games in any country is financed and supported by corporate entities in the interests of advertising/marketing?
Good point thought, have you guys noticed the interior of the bobsledding course, nothing more then a bunch of plywood |

They are hosting a Formula 1 race this year (Oct.12) actually I think they have a 3 yr deal with Formula 1, so those hotel rooms better still be around in Oct. |

KHL might want to move in after? They can also transform the village into a winter sports training haven.
I hope they do have some sort of plan for Sochi post olympics because the place is now apart of sporting history.

Wicked shots!
My uncle served down there during the unrest and was actually tasked with clearing out the ski jump building witnessed in the third picture ( building with the U.N marking on the roof) as they were taking repeated sniper fire from that location
Insane to think that a host country could slip into genocidal violence within 4-5 years of the Olympic games |

Those hotel rooms better be in better condition for the spectators of the Formula 1 race. Athletes and Media are one thing, but Formula 1 clientele won't stand for unfinished lobbies and electrical panels in the shower stalls. |

As long as there is enough room to park the helicopters everything will be okay. |
