How does that have any effect on if the nhl players go or not. In that line of thinking they should play games in the middle of the night so that they are prime time for us. The Olympic are a world wide event and Canada and the states are but a fraction of the overall populous. They probably separate so they can have Russia and Canada play opposite times

Exposure and viewership. If the NHL is not getting maximum exposure for the multi million dollar assets that they are supplying for the marque Olympic event, essentially for free (the IOC only pays for the insurance), why bother sending them again to Korea where the time difference is even worse. The risk (injury) wouldn't be worth the reward for the NHL and it's owners. Just imagine the poop storm if Crosby, Malkin, or some other superstar goes down with a season ending injury.

That is why I'm saying it's a poor decision for both North America games to be played at the same time, not maximizing the exposure.

I agree with you on a certain extent but I think the overall of the olympics will trump the singular hockey events.

Fair Enough, but does the hockey tournament have anywhere near the draw of viewers without NHL players? Essentially it would garner the same amount of attention as the Women's hockey Bronze medal game.

You think so? Good luck finding any evidence of existence of the Russian coaching staff and their families if they loose tomorrow.

The last thing Team Canada has had to worry about so far is their D. It's been fantastic.
- KB3Point0

I'm not worried about our D. I'm worried about our PP not coming through in a tight game. Dress PK as the 7th D-man and use him in offensive situations. Why dress a 7th like Hammer for defensive reasons? Makes no sense.

I'm not worried about anything with this team, unless they dress PK.

I believe JR was created in a petri dish using Y2K's seed...

Don't suppose you would be up for a prospect update anytime soon?

I can follow the big names but i have next to no knowledge concerning the later round kids of the last few years.

Swiss women are tall, very sexy!!
- LeftCoaster

I think you are thinking of Norwegians. I don't recall seeing too many Swiss women who stood out in terms of height (of course the Swiss Miss can be aesthetically pleasing though). However, Swiss women (as well as men) are quite conservative and tend to be more serious, perhaps even stand-offish (it takes a while for them to warm up *insert obligatory innuendoesque comment here* )

One things for certain, Sweiss is a beautiful country and one of the cleanest I've ever seen (as well as one of the most expensive). I was visiting a friend there and we were driving to his place from the airport and I remarked that the neighbourhood we were driving through was amazing, with old style typical European architecture etc. And my friend remarked, that we were actually driving through one of the 'slums' and worst areas of Zurich. Surreal

P.s we also had a chance to play a mini-hockey tournament outdoors. The weather went from sunny, to foggy, to snowing, back to sunny, in the course of a few hours. Very cool

Ok, thanks for sharing that insightful hockey comment, I know I know
