Concerns all noted. However, I 100% believe Canada are playing to the level of their opponents. Patronizing? Sure. But wait till they play the Americans, and they will kick out of their funk. A dodgy game today, could've been exactly what they needed in the quarters. if they won 6-0. So what. That's what the world would've expected. Now it's game on for two games. Back home on Monday. Just you watch.

Well, I certainly like your positivity and hope that you are right. However, because of the emphatic nature of your prognostication, if Canada loses, I think you should be forced to spend an entire weekend locked in a 1988 Geo with Prock and IggysBF

Canada might be the better team by a country mile on paper but haven't shown it on the ice. 0-0 after 40 v Norway, 2-1 OT win v Finland, late PP goal to win 2-1 v Latvia - none of these results set the confidence meter real high.

I think one thing Canada has going for them is the experience throughout this tournament is the exposure to tight, defensively structured games. This could come in quite handy with the high flying offense of the US, who haven't really had to play defense yet.

I have a feeling that it's gonna be quite an epic back and forth game that we'll see on Friday. The US is going to be looking the avenge 2010 big time!

I'd be hard pressed to imagine any real experience has been gathered in 4 games. At the Olympic level teams gel or they don't. Sometime they can play their way into form but I don't think any situational experiences would be gained over such a small sample size. All these guys on both teams have had plenty of experience playing against defensively obsessed teams in the NHL.

Your absolutely right though, I'm expecting a great tussle on Friday.

We're all Canadian here and I don't think anyone is being unduly pessimistic, just noting what we've been seeing on the ice and weighing that up with what we think Canada are capable of. If they find the form that they found against Russia in 2010 then no one can ever hope to stop them. Any less and there will be battle for each and every win. And for an Olympic tourney that's as it should be.

I still don't think anyone's giving the Finns the credit they deserve. Great team.

Especially considering the depth down the middle that they are missing

Definitely, if they were healthy the gold would be theirs, they still have a very good chance, as good as any of the 4 semi-finalists.

How's the non-smoking going? I start my 3rd week tomorrow.

I'd say it's going surprisingly well. I'm coming up on 2 weeks in a couple of days. The hardest problem I'm having is when I'm bored at work, but haven't given in so far. How are you finding it?

Also, I've become insanely thin on D-men. I've recently aquired some good assetss in Lupul and Hossa and would like to make a deal, Ofcourse I'd prefer you to take a look at other players for a deal aswell because those are my two best players.

I'm watching for the 3rd time. Probably the most in depth look at the P1 I've seen. The gear heads will enjoy the technical talk at the beginning, but if you're not into that and what to see it be driven like it's stolen; fast forward to about 18 minutes when he's on the track.

Car is insane.

I'm also finding it quite easy, I'm not really craving nicotine it's more just lighting up. I have become very productive, being self employed, I'm not taking smoke breaks, I just keep working, I put in 14 productive hrs on Mon. and up at 4am today to watch the Russian/Fin game gave me another 12 hrs. Tomorrow morning womens curling final and womens hockey final should give me another 6 hrs of production before noon, the shelves will be full in no time.

My buddy picked up his new A6 last week and took me for a ride yesterday afternoon, it sounds amazing, 450hp V8.
