My point is Higgins can fill in on the 2nd line. He's a 2nd/3rd line tweener. Hansen can't fill in. Given his contract and recent production coupled with a sellers market I see no reason why Higgins isn't worth a 1st. Look what Erat, Gaustad etc got in return - Bieksa#3
You are right about Higgins, I am not giving him enough credit. I prefer to see him on the third line but hasn't looked out of place on the second. And then I hate seeing Hansen on the first line with Sedins, as if him being on the second line wasn't bad enough.
However you can improve the top6, you have to consider it.
I am curious to see if there are any trades on Monday, but not holding my breath. |

I wish Edler would get ROR.
I think the value is close, but COL (Roy) are in love with the guy, and their offense is gelling too well to remove him.
I think the Canucks would have to add something significant to get COL's attention.
I think Parenteau, a 1st, and one of Hishon/Sgarbossa/Bigras would be a good starting point for a trade.
The Canucks are getting a lesser roster player, but still a helpful one, and some very good pieces for the future.
The 1st/prospect could also be flipped in another deal, if need be.

I would like to see Booth traded to keep the topic of a Luongo buyout alive, even though I don't think FA will because of the $$ amount.

I also said Canada would win.
I just questioned why you were so against the possibility they could lose, when Vancity said you were overly optimistic.
It was a highly contested 1-0 game... - Fosco
Absolutely.but I didnt feel canada was overly threatened. Chances? Yes. It's hockey. But they do what they do.and they will do it against Sweden. Great game though. |

That's a huge overreaction.
Parenteau is no ROR, but he's decent.
And Edler's value has fallen as the season has gone on.
COL aren't trading a significant player out of their offense. Not happening. Maybe if the Canucks add Horvat, which is ridiculous.
That's a decent package of futures to go with Parenteau. Maybe add another pick/prospect.
ROR re-signs in COL. They'll make the money work. If anyone's out, it's Statsny. |

Varlamov extension kicks in
Landeskog extension kicks in
Duchese extension kicks in
Mackinnon is 2 seasons away from 7 mill per
I'd rather have McGinn then Parenteau |

They'll make the money work. Playoffs will give them some additional money and incentive to spend to the rising cap.
They won't break up that offense too much.
It's possible, but it would take much more than Edler to get ROR.
That's your opinion on McGinn over Parenteau, which is fine.
I think he's another grinding plug, which the Canucks have enough of.
I'll take the skill player.
Plus, he (McGinn) used to date my brother's wife, so I could never cheer for him |

Yeah I know his family a bit. They come into my sisters clinic all the time. As u know I'm a Bigras fan. Think he is super underrated, but I think van can get a better package for Edler from somebody then that. |

Meh, Edler's value has decreased.
I can see why Gillis didn't jump at Det's risky package of futures at the draft, but the time to trade him was then. |
