I think they uses some kind of Swedish pronunciation of his first name. But they didn't skip him. - MJL
It sounded like they skipped Taveres.

That okposo was left off the roster was a disgrace. That guy has played great this year.
Pretty clear to me why giroux was left off Canada. They really wanted that size and speed on the wing to employ that smothering forecheck - Just5
That USA didn't medal really had zero to do with who they selected, or how they did. Or who was a member of the selection committee. It came down to what it always comes down to. The players didn't play well in the biggest games

Hope I'm not the only one who really didn't care all that much about Olympic hockey as soon as Russia got knocked out. I cared more about them NOT medalling than the US medalling. |

Okposo deserved a roster spot in my mind for what he could have added to that team. He has a nice blend of skills. I don't think he'd put them over the top |

Apparently, the Rangers blogger says Callahan will be on the move. You should read the players he mentions that might be coming back. |

agreed. it made for good drama, but i couldnt stand to see that on a regular basis.
and what the hell is the point of allowing the repeats only after the first three shooters? just let him go from the beginning if its basically a solo effort anyway |

oh i actually enjoyed that shootout because it was so ridiculous. after that i found most of the games very boring and i now know that i definitlely do not like the big ice. it's a snoozefest. |

i know they had the camera on him and gave him the medal but it sounded like 'gustav' or something and emerick was saying they forgot to mention him "but we didn't forget him" or some such..... |

Niklas Backstrom could not compete in the gold medal game, and likely will not get his silver medal, because hd is on allergy medication. Total bullpoop. |

Chuck Gormley @ChuckGormleyCSN
NHL Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly issues statement saying he does not foresee Nicklas Backstrom being banned from NHL play.
You also have to understand Olympic testing is more strict that any sports league here in North America if I am not mistaken. |

now the articles are saying it was Zyrtec-D, not Claritin, which is also an over the counter antihistamine but the D means it contains pseudoephedrine which is the banned substance.
still beyond stupid.
apparently he has severe allergies and has taken one pill a day for the last seven years |
