It actually can't happen soon enough. I'm so tired of this discussion now. Nothing really to do with you TPC.
It's time for both sides to just part ways. Get the most for him and move on. - tomburton99
Yea I am feeling the same way. On the bright side, March 5th is right around the corner. So its all gonna end soon. |

Part of me thinks the opposite. With all the rumors flying around the past month or so, trading Callahan doesn't seem so shocking anymore. Just seems inevitable almost - TPC
With the score 5-0 and time winding down on Friday against Canada, Callahan is out there eating one timers from the point. Those are the type of players GM's love. Not because they sacrifice their bodies to block shots, but because it makes other players want to bust their butt when their next shift. I just hope whoever comes in has at least the same work ethic as Callahan, but somehow I doubt it. |

We are just gonna have to learn to lower our expectations. Very few match that type of effort you mentioned. |

St. Louis isn't going to be traded. He would have to waive his NMC. Other than Nash, how many "Star" players waive them? - tomburton99
He would be playing at home just a quick drive away from NY |
|
|

i agree that st. louis won't waive his NMC. i'm just saying that stars do tend to waive their clauses when approached more often than people realize.
i see no reason why st. louis would waive though. he's spent the majority of his career in tampa and is excelling under the current coach even WITHOUT stamkos. he's old and close to retiring and i see no reason he would waive to uproot his life. going further than that, i just don't see why tampa would trade st. louis for cally. - rangerdanger94
Not sure he'd be uprooting his family. He lives in Greenwich, CT |

He's very proud of Tampa and appears to be loyal, I just can't see him waiving it, they've finally got a goaltender and the strongest team since they won the Cup, really doesn't add up, I trust Boomer's not just tweeting nonsense, he's a huge fan with many close ties and he's gotten it right a few times before, he's not one to (E4) trades to death |

I think Cally is out of here by Thursday, Slats very scared of injury. Unless of course he comes to his senses and signs a contract of reasonable value.

Absolutely agree. Boomer is not throwing this crap around unless he's got a really good source. He really cares about how the public perceives him. |

I don't think Esiason is bluffing neither.
He has major stake in the game here, personally and professionally. As we all know, he is a big time Rangers fan and he is one of the more successful local and national sports personalities in the U.S. I just don't see him pulling an Eklund just to generate more twitter followers and more "fanship" for his radio/television simulcast.

I'm not saying he would wave his NMC but, I'm giving reasons why he might to the Rangers. He does seen loyal to TB but he is loyal to his wife too. You never know, chance to play where he makes his offseason home , I would imagine his wife and kids live up here, it is a chance to play in NYC. I mean does Tampa have a better chance at winning the cup than the Rangers do? If it they are better than the Rangers it's not by that much. Don't sleep on this one. |

i just don't see tampa trading the reigning art ross trophy winner and their leader who still has 56 points in 58 games this season without stamkos for a huge chunk of it for cally who's never scored more than 30. i think tampa would love cally, but not from trading their leading scorer and one of the best goal scorers still in the league. not to mention st. louis is showing zero signs of slowing down and is still signed through next year. |

I can't disagree with what you're saying here. I'll file this one in the crazier things have happened category. I do think think he would waive his NTC to come north if given the opportunity. IMO |

St. Louis is a great player but calling him one of the best goal scorers in the league is not an accurate description for him. |

point scorer is probably a better description. regardless, he puts up huge numbers and i believe he leads the league in points scored the past 3 or 4 seasons. |

The ONLY reason St. Louis would accept this is if for some reason, is if he wants to be close to his home in Conn. I just don't see it. |

I don't think this is the trade either but moving home you would think is plenty of a reason to accept a trade. Not to mention Richards is his real life BFF. |

To all the cool Ranger fans, and yes I know there are a lot, ignore this post. It's not directed at you.
Hey Ranger Turd, be on notice. You'll be banned soon enough!!!
Jerks like you will start a flame war between real fans. Your avatar is tantamount to war, and in extremely low taste.

plot twist: st. louis demanded a trade once the original team canada roster was announced and he realized he didn't make the team |

sorry, meant to say MSLs pov, not cally, edited now
still, even if msl did ask for a move and preferred rangers, its almost got to be a zero percent chance yzerman is asking for a return of cally as a pending ufa
even if yzerman is willing to resign cally, hes a smart guy and comes from the Detroit model of not over paying. so yzerman having a deal to move him for ufa cally and a possible mid first rd pick when cally is asking 6+ is just a square peg and a round hole to me
i have to imagine yzerman would be asking for guys like Stepan, hagelin, kreider, etc in return |

Explain the contracts given to Carle, Ohlund etc. Thank you for reiterating that we won't be getting St.Louis. Most of us already believe that. Every GM makes mistake. |
