I can't see him waving a NTC to go to the islanders but you never know - SouthernRanger
He was being sarcastic. The isles fans like to make little jokes because well, what else do they have. |

If Sather traded him out of spite. And it's the Islanders who knows why they do what they do. - tomburton99
That is true but Callahan would cost too much money. |

Really casue in 2008-09 Tuomo Ruuto played 16 playoff games registering a lone goal and 3 helpers.

So you edited post. So what? Until the news of Tuomo Ruutu makes public news willing to waive his NMC, the Rangers have about as good a chance at getting him as they do St. Louis. That chance is a snowball's chance in hell type of probability. |

Should have just said grit and meant if St Louis leaves, Callahan would fill that void. - airjan23
I understand what you meant by the leadership role if he was to be traded, but honestly, what in the world would be in it for us? trading away our best player in franchise history (and current captain) for a rent-a-player? not to mention, hes still at the top of his game. I just don't see it Jan! |

He was being sarcastic. Little jealous, has to get the Isles involved somehow. - tomburton99
Ill be jealous when Cally for ST Louis happens. Isles have a better chance of making the playoffs this year than that |

True but Isles is one of three teams that has a player similar to the caliber of Stamkos. - mighty13duck
i think there are 5 teams that have a player similar in caliber to stamkos. tampa and stammer obviously, then pitt with crosby and malkin, you guys with JT, chicago with toews, and maybe colorado with duchene (and probably mackinnon soon). |

Seguin is making a case to be on that list.
Giroux (although started with a down year) should be mentioned too. |

and then there's thornton (and couture in a few years...and pavelski?; i had no idea how great of a player pavelski was until the olympics) in SJ. |

Not saying I do either but was trying to make sense of the speculation. Boomer is not one to just throw out rumors and we are all trying to read through tea leafs. Other possibilities besides Ruutu are Plekanec and Krejci, but he has seemingly ruled out Boston and Montreal. The only way St Louis makes sense is if as Kypreos says, he asked out and even though he was added to the Olympic team, he still wants out. |

Couture Pavelski Giroux Duchene are the 2nd tier guys. 1st tier guys are Crosby Malkin JT OVI Toews Stamkos and Getzlaf imo. Thornton is no where as good as he used to be and is getting older. |
