Snow is at such a disadvantage, no one wants to play for them, his hands are always tied. - puckhead17
I think vanek is moved but last minute on a low ball deal in fear of losing him for nothing. Might just get a late round 1st for him and that's it |

You know what? I don't know the prospects they have, but I looked at them, minus Girardi & I was at a loss finding anyone to replace his minutes.
Not sure what Sather is thinking, but I don't see either leaving - puckhead17
They have injured projects or decent prospects that are years away. Sather is thinking if those cigars he got from eBay are real Cubans. |

not sure if this was posted yet or not
It is not Clarkson or Chris Neil
It is not Brad Marchand
It is not Wayne Simmonds
It is not Vanek or Gaborik
He thinks the deal would be made sooner rather than later
9:47AM:
It is not Moulson or Evander Kane
It is not Artem Anisimov and a first round pick
It is not PK Subban
Is it not Iginla
Callahan is not going to Toronto or Boston
10:18AM:
It is not Martin Erat
This was something that no-one saw coming
The player coming back to the Rangers played in Sochi
It is not the Penguins
It is not the Caps, Sens or Devils
The player coming back is not signed long term
It is not Blake Wheeler
He laughs at the idea of Kadri
He doubts that this is a strategy to scare Cally into taking the Rangers offer - rangerdanger94
Rangers will never make a deal of any significance with Isles, Philly or NJ. So, forget those teams. That leaves Ottawa, Detroit and maybe Carolina. |

with that said, there's also this:
Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie 15m
NYR haven't, during OLY break, made any appreciable progress on new contracts for Ryan Callahan or Dan Girardi. Term still an issue on both.
Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie 13m
That said, at this time, NYR don't have anything imminent in terms of trade for either guy. Expect it all to play out over 7 to 10 days. |

Not skinner or semin. They are both on long term deals. Eric Staal however is not
No way the rangers fit 8mil+ tho
Also no way Carolina trades him. |

He was rumoured to be on the block earlier, health and concussion history already. I thought it was dumb for them to shop him according to reports but they signed semin to that large contract so they aren't the sharpest knifes in the drawer |

Yea but that would piss off that 3rd line center brother of his |

okay, based off the hints and looking at this list:
http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/feature/?id=111696
i think it might be one of ruutu, kopecky, plekanec, jussi jokinen, marcus johansson. only player i can see from detroit getting moved is one of their prospects like nyquist, tatar, or jurco but i don't think detroit will do that.
edit: scratch jussi and johansson off that list. |

Let's break this down:
Boomer said its a guy who played in Sochi.
A forward from the Eastern Conference.
It's not Boston, Toronto, Penguins, Caps, Sens, or Devils.
It's not a guy signed long-term.
And its not Moulson, Anisimov, Dubinsky, Clarkson, Neil, Simmonds, Marchand, Vanek, Gaborik, Kane, Iginla, Erat, Kadri, or Subban.
* * *
If you take the above, there are only a few guys that still even arguably fit the bill, using three years as the outer length of the contract term:
Alfredsson
Tatar
St. Louis
Plekanec
Grabner
Fleischmann
Kopecky
Vorachek
If you then take his the guy is an immediate first liner clue, that probably eliminates Grabner, Kopeck, and probably Fleishmann and Tatar.
So, unless I'm missing someone, it seems like Boomer is talking about:
Alfredsson
St. Louis
Plekanec
Voracheck
Maybe Tatar or Fleischman
The huge respect factor could arguably bring it down to just Alfredsson and St. Louis. |

That would be a kick in the nuts |

what if sather somehow swings a cally + conditional 1st for pacioretty deal? pipedream, but that would be awesome. |

Thanks Pete, great break down. To me, St Louis because he helps the offense and has the ability to get up and down the ice in AV's system. This is all pure speculation, and trust me, you guys know I hate writing these blogs, but one that I felt had enough information with Boomer somewhat in the know that it required being written.

Have absolute no interest in Hemsky, haven't had it when he mentioned a while ago and that hasn't changed now. Maybe I will be wrong but never been a big fan. |

Well, if you believe Boomer knows the guy, and is providing us clues, neither of those guys fit. There are only really few who do given Boomer's clues.

You're back. Welcome.
You've been missed, especially after saying Zuccarello wouldn't pan as a productive NHL player. - tomburton99
I've been here and there, not much going on last few weeks with olympics
And I said no team would be a cup contender if zuccarrelo was one of their top producers
And ill stand by that statement every day of the year
If you want to run wild with zucs first half season of good production, so be it
But a lot of people thought the same about stepan taking the next step last year too. Just sayin |
