Why would the flyers wait til the summer to make a move for a big time player? - Flyers4Life88
More flexibility. And it's likely when a deal is going to be available, if at all, for what they need.

You are correct. I watched that game and didn't recognize any of the names. Just looked at their roster and he's the only active NHL player.
That would have been incredible, if Latvia got a lucky bounce or something they could have done the impossible. - PLindbergh31
I was openly rooting against Team Canada, so I would have enjoyed that result had it happened. |

my one gripe with this whole thing is that malkin was by no means held off of the scoresheet in that series. - stayinthefnnet
He wasn't. But he scored 1 point at even strength when Couturier was on the ice against him |

Malkin and Crosby average a combined 3 points per game against the Flyers. Just slowing them down is a win. |

|
|
Nah, they had one...Zemgus Girgensens. - Jsaquella
Right. That Latvian goaltender is property of the Lightning. He's only 21. Do you know if he's considered a legit prospect. Geez they have Vasilevski too. I know he's legit. |

If you're referring to Weber, Flyers would need the Cap space to acquire him in season. They'll have more flexibility to do so in the off season.

Don't think he's a big-time prospect or anything, but they have brought him up and down a few times this year while Lindback's been out. |

Right now there's so many teams in the East that are battling for the playoffs, there's not going to be many sellers.
Also, the lower cap is a hindrance to trades. According to capgeek, there's 13 teams using LTIR to be in cap compliance. A lot of teams simply lack the room to make a big deal. |

Me too. Would have love to seen it. Had that happened Canada wouldn't have got a chance to play for a medal. |

Gotcha. So he kinda pulled that game against Canada out of his ass. He was unbelievable. |

The day after the game, somebody from Lightning shout had him listed as 4th on the goalie food chain...not exactly Anaheim depth, but hardly a kiddie pool of depth |

true. i mean this as no shot against coots. i respect the hell out of him. but god id like to see malkin at full mental capacity and not act like a child told no for the first time once he does take the puck off of him. |

True. Imagine if Cal Heeter was Norwegian and had a game like that against Canada or Sweden. Even though it's one game Flyers fans would be walking around like Vince McMahon. |

I think its couturier that frustrates him though. For whatever reason, Malkin hates him. Couturier not a poop talked either. |
