I cannot believe freaking Buffalo is on again. They were on like 2 or 3 times in a row prior to olympics and now back to back nights. - Just5
Savings teams money, they can just scout Ryan Miller and Steve Ott on the TV |

I'd be willing to trade Bryaden Schenn in a package to get Edler or Yandle. A Weber would be great, not vital. However, there's a real need for a mobile guy, who can move the puck either with smart passing or by skating it out of danger. - Jsaquella
I am not enamored with Yandle the few times I've watched him this year. He really does make some head scratching gaffes in his own end that result in the back of their net. It happens often. Edler I haven't seen enough of, but his injury history and shennanigans over this past summer dont get me too excited.
I've liked what Schenn has done recently when playing with natural wingers and I want to see more of it. I'm hoping the Flyers stand pat for the most part this deadlin |

Is Edler even available?...If I recall, Phoenix reportedly wanted Coots for Yandle...what about Buff? - nonpoint22
Same thing, more or less, package would be smaller for Byfuglien, because they're shifting him around now.
Acording to Bob MacKenzie, Vancouver is listening to offers for everyone who isn't named Sedin |

Ideally, that is what I'd like to see. Actually, I'd like to see them sell. Trade the UFas to be, most of whom likely won't be back and get assets for them. |

If the cost for Steve Ott is a first and a top prospect, I'd probably pass out at what the Flyers could get for Timonen if he wanted to get moved

That's what I mean.
I'd go to him and say, look, Kimmo...we might be a playoff team, but if you want to go to a contender, buddy, I'll make it happen. |

Couldnt agree more...Yandle seems like a minor upgrade from what Matt Carle was and Edler seems like a player I would like, but it worries me a bit that Vancouver would listen to offers for him in there position....Erhoff could be a fit and maybe he would cost as much as the others....My concerns with Buff are too many to list even if he has the shot we have been missing on our PP since Prongers injury |

They are all good to very good transitional defensemen. They'd all be significant upgrades in terms of the defense's ability to move the puck up ice and be better able to counter an aggressive forecheck-which still stymies the Flyers, despite the coaching change.
Most transitional defensemen have games where they have turnovers or mishandle the puck. But it's largely because they have the puck quite often. You could say the same about guys like Subban, too.
To me the benefits outweigh the risks. |

2Real's been talking about it for awhile, but a team like San Jose, a team that just hasn't been able to get over the hump...man.
Probably won't happen, but if you're San Jose...Joe Thornton ain't getting any younger |

Right. Yandle is better offensively but not as good defensively as Carle. Thats not worth Schenn at this point. Ehroff I'm ok with, although I dont have an idea why Buffalo wants to trade him, dont you need some vet presence? No to Buff too. |

Rangers and Girardi working out a deal around 6 years $5.5M AAV per Bob McKenzie.
He also said Rangers and Callahan will likely part ways at the deadline. |

Even Timonen? Lets face it, the Flyers aren't going to be sellers. If they didnt really sell last year they sure as hell aint this year. I believe Holmer this time when he says they wont be very active. What I would like to see is a hockey trade moving Grossman/ maybe L Schenn out for a more mobile guy in |

This is true. Dealing with a aggressive forecheck has also been a problem since pronger injury. I just worry about overpaying...It seems prices, whether now or at the draft, seem astronomical and I wouldnt trade Morin in a package for any of them |

That's...not a small number for Girardi, but in the NHL today, that's about what you have to pay.
Some might disagree, but I totally agree with the Rags if they move Ryan Callahan -- yeah, he might get 7 years at $6 million per from somebody, but he wouldn't be getting it from me |

I wouldn't trade Morin, either. I worry more about fixing the holes than overpaying. Obviously, if it's a huge pverpayment, that's a problem, but good, all star caliber defensemen that can move the puck have always been expensive. It's not anything new. |

What they could get for Timonen could really help this franchise going forward...HOwever the flyers would never sell a key piece of their team even if it was his last year |

I know. Believe me, I know. They're in a playoff spot, they won't sell. They might move meszaros to clear cap room, maybe Downie if they can get enough. That'd be it. |

I can agree with this....still it would depend on the package....I would do Schenn or Coots and maybe Cousins and picks...maybe Laughton...God I dont even know defensemen are in such high demand |

Because they're vital. They drive the offense and handle the hard work in their own end.
I bugs the poop out of me, because Giroux's basically a point per game player and he could be even better if the team could simply be better in transition |

i agree on both of these. even my stingy self can get behind that girardi deal. its not a steal, but its not a straight robbery on his part either. for cally, i will pass at that. girardi is better at his position than callahan is at is |
