Another Canucks player has to be coming back. Just way too much for one player - drummer829
Jannick Hansen better be coming back. That is too much for a player that isn't the final piece to the puzzle. Shero is too star struck and can't help himself. If this happens and the Pens don't make it to the Cup, both DB and Shero should get canned.

A proposed deal would send Kesler to the Penguins in exchange for center Brandon Sutter, two 2014 draft picks — likely a first- and third-round — and the Canucks' choice of defensemen Simon Despres or Brian Dumoulin, the sources said.

Either one is fine... Pouliot not being included is a big plus |

They interviewed bylsma and he's acting like they're up 5-0. Where's the urgency? You're getting man handled by one of the best teams in the nhl. |

Give up that for a third line center for the Pens and we still lack a winger for Sid moving forward. Exactly.

the overvaluing of picks and prospects on this board is quite amazing. |

I'm done with this game. Zero effort; no one wants to be there for the Pens and ridiculous conditions. |

why are Oprik and Scuds playing together... I feel like I could skate around them. |

That doesn't mean we would be done on the trades. Chill out boys. Hemsky and Boyes still can be had. |

The overvaluing of kesler is quite amazing. Why trade for him if he's going to be on a line with glass and pyatt |

It's almost like he doesn't realize how badly his team is being outplayed. |

It's not overvaluing picks and prospects. It's Shero showing a LACK OF ASSET MANAGEMENT. Comments like yours annoy the hell out of me. Keep trading away first round picks, and have drafts in which you don't pick until the fourth round DOESN'T refortify the farm system that is lacking in so many ways. We have few valuable assets to begin with. What happens when there is nothing left of value to deal down the road in the farm system and Pittsburgh NEEDS a final piece to a Cup winning team? This isn't a Cup winning team with Kesler. Not close. |

That's a bad match. Two old players.
I don't like our effort at all. Mailing it in. |

saw DePaoli just answer someone with a "yes" when they asked if we could get a 2nd or 1st for Oprik.
If that is the case, you had better do that.... why anyone would pay that is beyond me. |

It would be done. We couldn't afford to deal anything for Hemsky or Boyes, unless Shero trades out of the draft entirely and gives away Ruopp and Blueger as well. If this happens along with Hemsky and Boyes, this is all like last year. A total failure and a waste of assets.

So, trade Despres; trade Orpik; Letang could be out for the season; Martin is out for a while still. Remind me who will play on the blueline outside of Maatta and Niskanen? Yep, I thought so ... |

Exactly, use those picks and prospects to grab a young top 6 winger. That way there's really no NEED to draft a winger or forward, you can draft the best available. You do that and you have your top 6 set for the next 3-4 years. You could then move dupuis and Bennett next year down with sutter and the 3rd line becomes legit. Why trade picks and prospects for a 2 year rental who will be skating with lousy 4th liners |

alright, first of all... relax.
second, the penguins can afford trade picks with the emergence of Maatta and the development of Pouliot. It is as simple as that. You act like a 1st round pick is the key to a championship. the penguins had 5 guys drafted in the first round on their 09 cup winning roster.
long story short, trading picks and prospects to rebuilding teams while your best players are in their prime is nothing new and nothing ridiculous. |
