Maybe its the player on the ice not being able to do sfa.
Ference and Fraser were a yard sale every shift. Marincin/Petry had some struggles. Shultz/Shultz had some terrifying moments as well. This Defence is aweful. Period. Blame the coach all you want. - Iggysbff
I'm not referring to a single game because if your going to evaluate a player/worker in one single game then your not evaluating that employee properly, see I'm in a position where I hired/train my own staff and "I know that those I hired are representing me on the way they do their job",MacT and Eakins are in the same position, like it or not Eakins was and it's a mistake and the prove is this season so far. |

yes.....tell me something if your a supervisor or GM and hired/choose your own people, and now the people you just hired is struggling, you don't think it should reflect on you as a supervisor/gm since you hired/train those workers? - AlEx_OiL
Firing Krueger after 48 games was a mistake! |

Dude. I've owned and sold 2 of my own oilfield service companies. I'm now a consultant and know more about managing people than you will ever know. So please keep blaming the coach and telling me how much you know about training people and how that's the Oilers problem. |

See that's where your wrong and lot's of other fan's don't understand,I do agreed changing every year it doesn't help, but when is clear that a mistake was made then you need to corrected,MacT made a mistake by hiring Eakins, okay you want to be a nice GM and back up the guy you hired and give him another year/season to prove He was the right Coach for this team okay sure, but it only says to others that your just a nice guy or a inexperience GM. |

Hall/nuges defensive efforts made their D look worse last night I think. Monahan went back door to get open on them a few times.
proper coaching beat skill last night I think
That being said. if Schultz had a vet D to play with I think thats what he needs to make that next jump (and get that first pass down).*****like a yak for elder type situation maybe? |

The OT goal was a muffed pass by Marincin. Petry was behind the net on the boards waiting for the pass and that left the path the the net wide open once the pass didn't get to him. Had nothing to do with Hall/Nuge.
The first goal was a lucky bounce that came right to Monahan. Hall didn't cover him well.
To say either of those was bad coach? delusional. |

first goal monahan completely put the slip on nuge and got open. Yes it bounced the right way but nuge had bad position.
my point was that the rookies on the cgy team had less skill, but kept it simple. Oilers just keep it to fancy.
Thats why I brought up the coaching, its not a "fire" him statement. Its a point that the key guys just try to do to much out there. Hartley is getting a lot more out of his team then was expected, so yes last night the coaches did come into play. When a team is overachieving like the flames are, i do think its largely due to great coaching....and when theres that many stars on a team, probably some fixes in how things are handled need to be made, but not major.
I'm not watching the oilers much lately I was making a observation on last nights game. |

And I'm not completely defending Eakins. I have said all through the year some of his decisions are suspect. I'm still not sold on him. But to make another change would not fix anything. The firing of Kruger/hiring of Eakins is the only suspect move I think MacT has made so far. But these guys need to start making some adjustments. |

Understanding the problem is correcting the problem,players/coach/gm are all in the same position.
Now you and some others believe this team didn't improve under Krueger last season and would have not improve at all this season with Krueger as well, but believe that Eakins a inexperience coach is not the biggest reason why this team is doing so bad,Hmmm I heard lots that Ference is not the right Captain to lead this team, now who choose Ference to wear the C?see "some" people says this team is bad and blah blah so if this team is so bad why MacT goes and hired a inexperience Coach?to do what?I'm yes one of them that saw this same Oil team(with out this season additions)improve under Krueger last season and would have improve more with the new additions and I believe MacT saw the same but got over excited with Eakins and though that with Eakins this Oil team would keep improving, well a mistake by a inexperience GM trusting a inexperience Coach. |
