I'd really like to see a stats guy get the lines for when L. Schenn is partnered with Meszaros or Streit v. any other partner.


L. Schenn was arguably our best defenseman last season (paired with Timonen). He looked solid in the stretch before the Olympic break while paired with Gustafsson. In short--from what I've seen with Schenn's play--he looks pretty good when he's not paired with a fourth forward (Meszaros or Streit).

The main thinking is he was not invloved in the Miller trade and there was a power struggle and a clash of egos.

LaFontaine is said to be a my way or nothing guy.

IT does not look good on LaFontaine, since this is the second time this has happened with him where he has left an organization within a few montsh of hire.

Either way it looks bad on the Sabres as a whole, and people are questioning (wrongfully IMO) the leadership of Pegula

Of the guys we drafted, probably. Ghost is pretty small and isn't exactly lighting it up in college.

Haggs been meh thus far in Europe but has the size and skill to mature into a better player.

Morin has improved substantially each year.

Actually, Gostisbehere has been arguably the best defenseman in the NCAA this season. Observers rave about his skill and smarts.

Hagg has been pretty solid in Europe, and was very good in the WJC this winter.

And that scares me....its like the FoxNews for hockey fans...no facts tons of agenda

Hagg was a poetntial first round pick but a lot of teams had issues with his consistency. Which is still his one big issue. Even from shift to shift, he'll look like Timonen one play and then Modry the next. I think he tops out as a top-4 two-way played with a good outlet pass.

Nobody's saying... but apparently he didn't want to deal Miller... and Murray might have circumvented him to make it happen.

They're not getting Weber. Not for at least 6-7 years. But at the same time, you know the Flyers would love to make a huge splash at their draft. The shirt/jersey sales would be incredible.

I agree 100%...If they got him I think it would take all of about 5 mins for shirts to hit the stands...Bettman: "We have a trade to announce Nashville trades Shea Weber to Philadelphia for....." 5 Mins later on jumbotron..."Fans dont forget to pick up your Shea Weber flyers gear in the fanzone"

It's not revisionist history. He led the team in ice time last year, and was the only defenseman other than Kimmo to be a plus player.

He's right though. Luke Schenn was one of the lone bright spots last year, and really looked like he was morphing into a top-notch shutdown player.

They all lie. Foxnews is just one of the bunch. They open themselves up to criticism because they call themselves "fair and balanced". MSNBC never tries to hide the fact they're left leaning.

Guess he didn't want to throw Miller out with the bath water... wanted to re-sign him. Murray supposedly refused to even broach Miller's agent about an extension... made up his mind to trade him from day 1.

No. He played as a top 4 defenseman last year. He and Timonen were the Flyers best defenseman. They could have been a good 2nd pairing on a top NHL team.
