I so wanted to see the refs step aside and let Luke take care of the family business. . |

He was going to until another Cap stepped in front of him. I would have loved to see an angry Luke fight Orlov. |

"Days of rest" was a kind way of saying that he should not be playing.

If Orlov is not suspended for the game Wednesday I hope he mans up and drops the gloves early. The hit was dangerous. If you play that way you have to answer for it. That is how hockey works. |

He should definitely be suspended. I hate the NHL rule that players get a worse suspension based on how injured the victim is. Since Schenn was able to return to the game, Orlov may not be suspended even though the hit was malicious. He, clearly, targeted Schenn. |

Brutal hit. Should get at least two games. His mindless penalty awakened the Flyers. Cost the Caps a point for sure. |

Picking up a forward for the 4th line on the cheap Id be in favor of too.
Ehrhoff is a guy Id like to pickup if he can be had for a reasonable deal. Theres so many factors to that contract that I dont know how to evaluate a fair trade, like the recapture penalties BUF could face if he retires early, length of deal, etc. Id guess a first plus a B prospect (Akeson) would be demanded however I wouldnt be happy about trading any first in general. - SeaIslelandLush
First of all, I was happy with the win. There's games like the Calgary one where, even though they won, they didn't win well, and you'd almost rather them lose but play the right way. However, yesterday, the win was satisfying even though it wasn't always pretty. With a big game played at that intensity, you'll take the win however it came. Mason didn't have a fantastic game, but he played just well enough.
As for trades, the Flyers should not entertain any offers requring a 1st or 2nd (or really a 3rd) unless it brings them a game changer on defense. Any I'm not talking Tyler Myers (okay, for a second, maybe), I'm talking Shattenkirk or better. But that's most likely not happening.
I wouldn't expect any "big" moves and they shouldn't be adding any big-name rentals. I expect them to make a few depth moves, maybe (hopefully) trading Downie, maybe add a bottom-6 piece, and go with what they have. |

You know that hockey will never grow in America if the refs allow fighting to happen. You act like the UFC and pro wrestling are popular. |

Not only did it put them on a huge kill and cost them a point, his teammates had to fight his fight (sorta). Sure he was popular in the dressing room after the game. |

I think those two may have saved homer's job. I been critical of him but looks like he hit a homerun with them. Also do we have any chance of winning the schenn jvr trade still? - JoeRussomanno
no....but thats not Schenn's fault.....he is a 5-6 guy at this point in his career....he has some big holes in his game that get exposed when he plays big minutes.....10-12 ...he seems ok....this is his 6th year in the league, and may be a classic case of a kid that was rushed to quickly to the show....is there room for improvement...sure, but his ceiling is not much different then what you see today.
JVR scored a pair the other night and now has 26....he has figured out how to succeed at this level....he has been great in tight to the goalie on pp this year, his hands are sick (as the kids say). he has played top minutes on the Leafs top line with Kessel and Bozak and deserves every minute he gets. The Leafs haven't tried to make him something he is not.
this trade was a FLEECING. |

You may dislike Renaldo, but I thought Rinaldo has played well recently. He was able to pull out the bad (good at this point) Carcillo that rendered him ineffective, and he wasn't a liability at all in these last 2 games.
Downie, on the other hand, has been a disaster apart for a 9-game stretch. |

At least Hartnell had some positives to his game. The 2nd penalty in the Rangers game was weak. But at least he seems to know it, and actually created some good forecheck pressure in both of the wins. |

B Schenn has mastered the art of eating the glass. He knew it was coming and was in good position as his head wasn't tucked. Not sure what he does other than hits and plays hard to deserve these glass sandwiches. |

Rinaldo at least does something well. He delivers punishing hit after punishing hit. He is staying out of the box and drawing penalties. As long as he does not take penalties he is fine in my book.
Downie is dumb and he is not putting up points. If he gets back to the point totals he had when he first got here maybe I could look the other way. Also, Raffl is outplaying him right now and deserves to play on the 3rd line. |
