My wife once called me while I was in San Diego. I was at a Padres game (I was out there by myself, so figured I'd catch one) and she calls me. She has just seen a spider bigger than her head. She asks what to do. Knowing full well I'll have a heart attack if I come home and come across it, I scared her into killing it, saying, "If you don't kill it, it might crawl into bed with you." Yeah, husband of the year, I know.
She said she emptied an entire can of spray onto the thing, just saying, "I'm sorry," the whole time because it's a horribly painful way to die. - jmatchett383

I am in total agreement and even though Streit has not been as bad as I thought he would be when we acquired him..we still have to many pieces back there that make poor decisions in there own zone and fail to help the team break out in transition - nonpoint22
Although he's not as good or smart, and as much as I like Grossmann, I think Lauridsen might be the heir apparent to him for next year. Same mold as a player, both bulk physical defensive players where any offense is a bonus. He isn't as good positionally, and he won't block shots. But in the interest of the cap and asset management, moving Grossmann for a younger player and/or pick package in the offseason may be in the best interest of the team. But for this year, I really feel he will be a valuable playoff asset. |

Um, yes. I have seen them. Granted, I should have said including legs, not body. I killed one with an 1100-page hockey encyclopedia. |

In order to retool and bring guys in, somebody's gotta go out. Grossmann's a good a candidate as any. |

I thought I hated roaches, then I encountered a flying roach. My life is ruined. - BulliesPhan87
I am mortally terrified of Praying Mantises... I did not know that they flew until one night I was unable to enter my house due to one being on my screen door (I can't even look at them). I turned to my friend and said hey... they don't fly right? Bam... one comes fluttering down from the sky and lands on the door next to the other one. I haven't slept easy since that night. |

Called wolf spiders buddy. They're native to Gloucester County. We also have seen a brown recluse from time to time, although they're not all that big relatively. Thankfully only 1-2. |

I have the best praying mantis story ever.
My dad works for a tree service company and his boss owns a tree farm, so he gets 2 free trees ever year. The first year my wife and I lived in our apartment, we got a tree (my wife's first-ever live tree).
Christmas day comes around, and we go out. We get home around 10, and I see this little beige praying mantis on our carpet. I like them, so I check him out, pick him up, and set him outside.
I go to work the next day for a half day. My wife calls me and says she saw 3-4 more of them that morning. I get home, and they are all over the house: on the couch, on the carpet, on the desk, on the tree...basically, there was a praying mantis egg sac that survived the mild winter and figured it was spring time and hatched. I sprayed the entire tree down, and they were literally dropping at my feet. She had a crotched angel her grandmother made that I had to pick carcasses out of.
Over all, there were probably over 200 praying mantis bodies I had to dispose of. We are no longer allowed to get live trees. |

I thought wolf spiders were like hand sized?
Also, brown recluse...nice. Just a small creature capable of killing you. No big deal |

Some, like the ones in my office, are, maybe 2 inches at most. There's a few I've seen, mostly while camping, that are probably 5-7 inches counting legs.
Brown recluses will only make an adult sick, but with a baby girl now, I probably need to call someone. |
