Well thats what they need. Flyers won't include B. Schenn or Couts in any trade unless the player is top pairing or top pairing potential. - PhillySportsGuy
Hmmm, you know what would be interesting, lets say we take the Penguins offer so long as we get Pouliot.
So something like Sutter, Pouliot pick for Kesler.
Then we flip you guys Edler and Pouliot for B.Scheen plus forward prospect.
Would that not work for you guys? get a good top 4 D, plus the potential of an elite puck mover.
We finally shore up our center situation with Henrik, Schenn and Sutter in the top 9. |

If it brought back Kesler AND Edler (and including other Schenn)? Yes I'd do it. Not for Edler straight up. - jmatchett383
for sure not Edler Straight up, he hasn't been great this year at all......I still am on the fence though....not sure I move B Schenn unless its for a mobile, puck moving somewhat young D man that can eat minutes. |

Might work but it depends on the forward prospect from the Flyers. |

As long as the forward prospect isn't Laughton, maybe.
B Schenn is a very good #2 center on this team, and I'd hate to move him. But if moving him helps revamp our blue line...well, it takes value and potential for value and potential. Pouliot is one of the better defensive prospects in the world, and Edler would become our #1 for the next 2 years. |

I doubt many players plan for a player to leave his feet and plant an elbow in the back on their head while they're facing that glass. I think he's just bad at leaving himself prone. - jmatchett383
yeah ... but he never seems to be THAT hurt, as far as I can remember. He leaves himself prone, but also not overly so, and somehow knows just how to hit the wall. |

Well then you're not gonna get that, because B Schenn is most likely the key piece (assuming Coots is off the table) teams want, and he won't get it done alone or with a small piece/pieces. |

I don't think your GM can make that many moves that quickly.....honestly I don't see Kesler getting moved because your GM is really gun shy.....I mean the Luongo thing is still a problem....and he had a chance to get away from it, but held on and held on....his answer? trade the young talented future and hold on to a disgruntled vet ? fast forward to this year...its ugly....god knows what it might be by next October. |

A player can only control how he hits the wall so well. You're talking about a grown man leaving his feet and impacting the back of your head into a fairly rigid piece of glass. You really can't control that impact, even if you're facing the guy and see it coming.
It is pretty remarkable that he isn't hurt worse more often. |

That works. Forward prospect would be Taylor Leier. Nice doing business with you |

If Vancouver has another first round exit or misses the playoffs, there's gonna be some changes all over, both on and off the ice. |

Sami Vatanen?
Not for Schenn straight up, but, maybe he & something else for Laughton?
Then you trade & sign MacDonald, & the D is mobile again. |

As do I. But if that deal was there, it would be hard to pass up (although I like the idea of the Pouliot/Edler for Schenn+Leier/prospect more). |

I'd be willing to move Mez and a 1st to Vancouver for Edler and a 3rd, they'd need to take Mez off our hands to make the salaries work.
On 2nd thought I'd rather move Mez to Boston for a 2nd and then our 1st to Vancouver for Edler. |

Since his name got thrown around a few times, what is Leier's potential? He made the WJC but was used in a 4th line/extra forward role, which didn't really suit him. I figure he goes to Adirondack/whever next year. Where does he fit? Is he viewed as a Raffl/Read type player (3rd liner that can jump up) or does he need to play in a scoring role (a la Hart Ross Akeson)? |

Another reason I think we will be quiet is because I think B.Schenn is playing himself off the table...He has been really good lately |

That's tough. I'm really not looking to move a first for anything except a blockbuster at the draft/offseason. Edler has had a shaky year, so I'd like to try to get him for quanitity over quality. |
