Shade over 30 with two years left on a reasonable deal... would be a perfect bridge to get us to the kids. |

In your opinion, who would your rather have on the ice protecting a lead at the end of a game... Bieksa or Edler?
And how has Diaz looked for you guys? The numbers seem to show he's doing well. |

I think this is just smoke to get the Pens to offer up more for Kesler. - KGBflyers10

Honestly, both of them are pretty equal in their own end IMO.
Diaz has been decent, I don't mind him as a depth guy since he's also a righty. |

I'm thinking this as well. Adding Kesler doesnt make a lick of sense unless Hartnell or Vinny is getting shipped out, and I dont see that happening. |

Kesler isnt worth giving up a 1st for. It's not a position of need. And I have serious doubts any team would be interested in Hartnell, or that he'd be willing to waive his NTC. |

Gotta pick up Larsen on waivers this time... at the very least, he's a right handed upgrade over Gill. Speed, puck skill, decent size... he's like Gus+. |

Agreed. Flyers need to take shots with players on waivers. Beats giving up assets. |

Man I wish we didn't have Hartnell. I appreciate all he's done, but he just costs too much for what he brings. I hold it against him when watching games and I feel it ruins it for me when he's on the ice.
I feel like he's forgotten how to play hockey. He's not really chippy anymore. Instead of creating havoc and pissing people off... he's regressed into pissing off just our fans by mindlessly taking penalty after penalty.... - Flyersgod
The penalties are definitely an issue. But other then that, I like what he brings to the team, and his cap hit and contract are reasonable. He's one of those players that you miss when he's gone. Just has to be smarter and more disciplined.

I'm just coming in on this. That is insane. If Homer even entertains this he should be thrown off the Ben Franklin bridge. - MBFlyerfan
Honestly, my gut feeling is that it's just noise. I can't see why the Flyers would be in on Kesler. Not with areas of bigger needs.

I'd be perfectly content if they claimed him and flipped Downie & Meszaros for picks...and then sat on their hands. |

I truly think the Flyers merely asked what they wanted for him. Flyers are always good for at least asking about prices. Can't blame them. |

He's been gone for two years and I do miss him. |

Any interest in Mark Giordano from Calgary? I know he's a left hand shot, but he's pretty solid. 4 million dollar cap hit with I believe 2 years remaining on his deal and only 30 years old.
I think he could be a good fit. Looking at the rosters of teams that will be sellers.
Could he be acquired for a reasonable return? |

Flyers by my count are at 49 contracts.

There are too many games where he goes completely unnoticable, until he does something stupid. I feel like Simmonds is doing everything the "good" Hartnell was doing 3, 4 years ago. |

I would lean towards that also. They kick the tires and do their due diligence. That's how a lot of the rumors are formed. |

Simmonds is a better player. But I think Hartnell is still effective as a player, and he's a need for this team. Just needs to stop taking dam penalties.

All of those Edmonton rumors got really quiet at the Olympic freeze. A whole lot of scouting by both sides, still wonder if those talks are still alive? |

I literally saw an interview with a Calgary reporter who said the only two players close to untouchable in Calgary are Monahan and Giordano...apparently you would need to really blow them away to acquire Giordano |
