All of those Edmonton rumors got really quiet at the Olympic freeze. A whole lot of scouting by both sides, still wonder if those talks are still alive?

Wouldnt that be something...flyers acquire defense for a forward and then ship Coburn to Edmonton for a Skilled forward...cool theory, but Nahhhh not seeing it

I literally saw an interview with a Calgary reporter who said the only two players close to untouchable in Calgary are Monahan and Giordano...apparently you would need to really blow them away to acquire Giordano

I haven't seen Calgary a ton. Maybe 5 times this year, and Giordano has stood out in the games I've seen. I guess they consider him a cornerstone.

If Schenn truly has a high value, they should use him to fill a need. Getting Kesler for Schenn makes them better tomorrow.. but also makes them older.. again...

I believe they do have genuine interest in Eberle and would pair him with G. I think they want a player with more of a goal scoring touch to pair with G, then Voracek long-term.

No idea of a proposed deal, but a lot pieces involved.

It would probably be more along the lines of check back with me before you deal him elsewhere.

There would have to be at least 3.1M going in the deal to Edm, or somewhere else. And adding that 6M for future years is going to make it harder to improve the defense.

They don't really have the assets to spare. And with the uncertainty around Letang I wouldn't be trying to acquire forwards with said limited assets.

So Edler or Bieksa in a deal that includes B.Schenn, other parts added if need be.
